They have had two years for a Rodri contingency plan. Both windows of which have gradually gotten worse.
UTD have had a 10 year contingency plan But still are miles away

It doesn’t even need to be a so called back up. They could of expressed they would get game time together in a double pivot away to tough teams or the “backup” could play DM and push Rodri to a 6 we know he is capable of it and that’s not to mention games when Rodri doesn’t play atall. If that’s what it took I feel we should have done it. We also didn’t get a second striker, the inevitable Haaland injury isn’t here but if it does come I seriously don’t know what we’re going to do.As I keep saying - no top player would come as a Rodri back up. But now he’s out for the season they probably would - knowing that if they play well, the onus will be on Rodri to win his place back.

Can’t say that I’m that arsed. With the state of the squad at the minute, I was expecting a tough game. I said in the pre match thread Pep should go with the youth for this one as they’ve got the legs. Would Mcatee be doing any worst than Gundo at the minute?

Probably to get him back into the day to day matchday experience.Not sure this question has been asked yet but - KDB on bench. But he had no design to play. Why was he even there? I suspect its because Pep called his players out.

about 9 minutes of good football in the 96.
We have to buy a CM I just dont think Kovacic is good enough. I realise Gundo and Foden having stinkers but the 6 is essential to our system and he wouldn’t have got in a city first 11 for the last decade now we are reliant on him. Not solely his fault but since we’ve been reliant on him we can’t keep a clean sheet. The happy clappers who said recruitment hadn’t been an issue this yeah have to admit it really is. No Alvarez replacement. No support for Rodri no Walker replacement all proving to be problematic now. I realise that’s our first loss but anyone who’s been going to games will surely admit we haven’t looked great in any game.
