Bournemouth (A) Post Match Thread

Give Howe a bit of credit. He has set up similar for most games against us. Two banks of four while giving up territory and condensing play. Has managed to keep it tight in most games, at least for 75 minutes.

On Sunday he changed it, and it definitely surprised us, that and the pitch, made it a really tough game.

Though of course to many, we played rubbish, or at least a good half of the team did.

I prefer to use the phrase "too slow and laboured" rather than rubbish. Think we were quite happy with the pace of the game,
given the weather conditions.

What is abundantly clear is that our still very young team (second youngest in the Prem last year) cannot be outplayed by any team in the Prem. True, we weren't at our best, but Bournemouth, like every other team are generally hoping for the best against us, hoping we'll miss our large number of chances. Any damage seems to be self inflicted. We're barely conceding any chances but a worrying number are going in albeit we're still playing ourselves in this season. With Kevin playing regularly we have a dynamism no other team can match. Kevin coming back is like signing a £200m player.

Liverpool cannot outplay us because our midfield is vastly superior to theirs - we just have to make it count.

We where far from our best but a roasting hot day, dry as a bone pitch and still not fully fit squad won the game comfortably.

Great 3 points.

VAR is being discussed elsewhere so I won’t clog this thread up!

It's only 1 yard narrower than our pitch.
The pitch looks small, but when you check the facts it's more or less the same size as ours - vastly inferior quality though. Bournemouth allowed the grass to grow long and go unwatered in baking heat. Could the pitch have contributed to the bad injury to Daniels ? Hopefully, a speedy return for him.

Probably try mate but yesterday was pretty much David Silva day in the media.

David Silva day? If you feel yesterday’s attention by the media for what Silva has meant to City and the Premier League, is worth mentioning, fine.

So when Silva says goodbye to us and the Premier League we will see a player leave that has never been voted player of the year, nor has he been nominated. Maybe the media can make a day of explaining that!
