The whole point of building a powerful and top quality squad is when a player has an average run of games (IE all pre season, and the opening 2 games), they don't just sit comfy in their position based on who they are and how world class they have/have not been in the past
He should IN MY OPINION rightly sit out saturday and Bernardo should take his place
That is NOT me saying he is an inferior footballer, nor is it me saying he has not been top class for the club. It is merely me saying Bernardo deserves to start in a position a certain player is not performing in

We have won naff all significant for 4 years now and its not a time for sentiment. Simple

I'll agree with this, and D.Silva is my favourite ever City player.

Would love to see Danilo play in Fernandonho's position when everyone is fit, just to see how he goes. We need players that drive at defences, and unless Sterling is playing we lack in this area. If we are playing 3,5,2 then we should be solid defensively, so we should be able to afford our deep lying midfielder to make runs forward.

So here we are 2 games in hoping or suggesting that that Pep should make wholesale changes. Isn't that just what many on here and in the press were criticising him for last season? Let the team bed down, especially at the back. Players need to get to know each other in a different formation even after years together. Patience is needed at this early stage.

I simply put a clear reason as to why Silva may not be in the team I would pick on saturday, if given the chance.

And PS, if he was injured for the majority of pre season, and thus hasnt performed for the first 2 games; benching him saturday shouldn't be too dramatic anyway?
And with regards to setting him back, this is not david silva FC. I love the guy and what he has done for us, but he has been part of a side thats won no titles for 4 years now and in turn we shouldn't blindly stick to the same side over and over again, thats all

Bournemouth away isn't the type of game we need to be playing 5 defenders. Get Sane in his correct position, Sterling deserves a start and lets see last seasons formation with fullbacks Pep wants.
