and for balance, you are correct-gambling can have terrible consequences on people's lives, I wasn't advocating it-just pointing out numbers.

10 to 1. The 11 includes the stake.

Yes some have it including the stake some don't.

Odds of 10 to 1 mean you collect 10 in profit so your return equals 11 some quote that as 11 some as you say would quote that as 10 to one some quote 11 as the total profit excluding the stake which you and I would say is 11 to 1 a total return of 12.

I should have been more specific as to profit and return of stake.

This is true, I made a fair bit from matched betting for a few years but eneded up gubbed from them all. They hate responsible betting and only want problem gamblers tempted by their offers and free bets.

I have won twice at the bookies betting on us win titles , no idea what i was doing , just asked if i put this much on how much would i get back if we win the title ? Won about £300 i think

Yeah, but it'll be a false 4 with inverted wing-backs and an attack minded, forward thinking centre-back who has the extra responsibility of moving into the midfield when we've got possession ;)
