Well actually I’ve seen all bar four games live this season so feel reasonably able to say I’ve watched city this season. I would agree with what you have said about attacking the wings post Christmas. The point you made about like of excitement is a big one for me, again particularly post Christmas. I can accept defeats but it’s the manner of them and the lack of desire, fight and genuine chances that have bored me this season.
It is frustrating but a lot of young players are coming through into the squad but we haven't yet found a way of effectively attacking. We are using the wings a lot and dominating them but it's not leading to goals.

Recently we have almost entirely vacated the midfield playing Marmoush and Savinho, and Doku and Haaland. I've been looking down on the pitch and we had almost no midfield at all. It didn't work but it wasn't sideways football.

I think we will be fine on Sunday. 12 days off for Pep so he will be fully recharged. The sun will be shining the blue moon will be rising. 4 nil to City a clean sheet, Haaland 2, KdB & Doku.
I don't have any stats to prove it but Bournemouth press harder than any side in the PL all over the pitch. I don't want KDB to start because I don't think he could handle the physicality but he might do well off the bench.

City will get chances. We have to take them. I hope Haaland recovers from his internationals.

Could play a lot of players that will be fresh.

Ortega

Nunes
Dias
Kushanov
O'Reilly

Nico
Gundo
Marmoush

Bernie
Haaland
Grealish

Try and control the game early then we have savinho foden doku possibly bobb to bring on later when the game is stretched??

In recent games, Pep has played a very attacking line-up with 4 forwards in front of Nico and Gundogan. I think he might drop one winger and play Marmoush behind Haaland...

----------Ederson
Rico-Khusanov-Dias-Gvardiol
-------Kovacic--Nico
-Marmoush-Foden-Doku
----------Haaland

Not sure if Gvardiol is fit. If he is not I would like to see O'Reilly play there.

I was confident about beating Bournemouth until I found out that the ref is that fucking useless **** Atwell.
Definitely put a downer on the weekend

I think this is probably the hardest draw we could get. The way Bournemouth play is the antithesis of how we play. I just hope he plays two DM's in front of a back four. They will be well up for it and in our faces from kick off. This is no country for old men.

Ederson
Nunes
Khusanov
Dias
Guardiol (If fit)
Nico
Nico
Marmoush
Foden
Haaland
Doku

there was an article posted yesterday that proved statistically they win the ball back faster than any other team which underlines your point. They win the ball back higher up the pitch than any other team as well and are one of the best at creating chances from transitions. Increasingly, I think their coach is one of the very best. It will be a very stern test for us.

They have been struggling though in recent weeks. 4 defeats in the last 6 league games. Perhaps it is a good time to play them. I don't think they are going to park the bus like many teams we play.

Imagine Bournemouth beat City, with the teams left in the tournament I'd say Bournemouth would be favourites to win the FA Cup.

It wasn't so long ago that City v. Bournemouth would have been seen as an almost certain City win after attractive football from both sides, maybe even with City overwhelming them and having the game won inside 20 minutes. Remember a game v. Bournemouth at the Etihad a few years back when De Bruyne started things off by rolling a free-kick under the feet of the players in the wall and into the net, that summed up the ease with which City did things then. Those days are gone, but in the likely absence of 90 minutes of total dominance on Sunday I reckon City can win it with a few magic moments - one of those astonishing crosses from KDB that cut out the defenders and curl away from the 'keeper for Haaland to tap in (he can still do that once or twice a game) or maybe a dazzling, dancing Doku run that actually ends in a shot on target. We'll need at least two such bits of individual magic, though, and probably three, and the same goes for the semi and the Final.

I just had a look but Bournemouth never won any trophy like ever. Not even a semifinal for League Cup or FA cup. apart from maybe winning a league to get promoted...

so beating City would get them their best ever cup success by playing a cup semifinal. wow.

getting To Europe would also be the first time ever which they have a chance for if they win Fa cup or even if they do well in PL.

I can't remember Fulham winning anything either.
Crystal Palace won some strange trophy years ago. Can't recall what it was.
It would be ironic if Newcastle and the likes of Bournemouth/ Fulham won the 2 cups at the expense of liverpools domestic treble.

How long until Rodri is back?

Biggest game of the season, so far.
Afraid not. But the next 2 league games are especially the rags. Would be happy with4 points from those. Sunday is a free hit tbh rather than a big game. Not sure we would definitely beat any of the teams left in, except maybe Preston, but with pressure off we might surprise ourselves. I see a shootout Sunday and probably settled with spot kicks after 120. Hopefully we can sneak it.

A positive performance on Sunday makes it more likely that we’ll win the subsequent games

I’d rather still be in with a chance to win the cup than beat United to be honest.
