Journalists are researchers and detectives. If Pep gave a pathetic reply along the lines of 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks in response to a question about the verdict you might chortle along with the joke but it should be followed up immediately. I know from reading this forum that the world is full of inquisitive people who will jump on any weaknesses immediately. Why doesn't the same happen face to face? It does with your friends in conversation. People are always asking questions of each other but these press conferences are too deferential.
It should be if they were, but the evidence suggests they're click-bait chasers now

I agree. But I had a feeling even in October we were winging results a lot and actually wrote a prediction in my diary that we would get sweet fa points in November. Something not been right since at least that fa cup final shite show last season.

Bur like you say, at that point early November little did we know what kind of horrors were to ensue over the following 4 months. And tbh imo continues......
"Horrors" .....did you go to Wycombe,Lincoln and York ?

Serious multiple, repeat injuries/illness to many of the squad led to our disintegration from an elite, World class standard.

When the first domino fell the resultant strain on those left became unbearable....a vicious cycle,a perfect storm which very few had experienced or expected.

A weaked, part fit team, losing confidence, games and players as each game unfolded.

Peps performance during this period didn't inspire confidence in players or supporters as he seemed to be like a rabbit in the headlights.

Most clubs would've been adversely affected and we were no exception.

Lessons to be learned -:
* Strengthen when you're on top.
* Do things when you can, not when you MUST.
* A full squad of elite players is necessary for a 70 game season.
* There's no substitute for quality.
* Plans B & C are prudent.
* If you can't win,don't lose !!

The problem with staying the bleeding obvious is……. Not doing the bleeding obvious

Can’t wait for next season to start most if not all your notes should be fixed … I hope

I think too many are massively overestimating Bournemouth. Some are making out this is going to be like a tough CL away day equivalent.

They have 1 win in their last 6 and have lost their last 3 home games.

Even when they played us earlier this season, despite it being arguably one of their best performances in their history, Foden could have equalised to make it 2-2, and this was when we were at rock bottom this season.

Had Foden made it 2-2, they would have gone 4 matches without a win then.

They also have the easiest away ground in the Premier League to play at. It's not intimidating due to the small numbers.

It will be a challenge, granted, but I think if the trophy hunting City are on it we will be fine.

Plus they are missing their 2 best players

My worry is that without their best two players their teammates will want to win for them two and dig in even deeper. It happens in most together functioning close teams, sadly not a characteristic we've seen much of this season from our own team.
My worry isn’t about them, it’s about us! We have been abject away from home.

Last year I would have given us a 95% chance of winning this game.

This year 50/50.

You just don’t what we will do at the moment.

I agree.
It will be an entertaining game, sorry to be missing it.
With their suspensions, and good large pitch we should be OK.
I hope Haaland and Foden( if selected )
rediscover some verve .
Come on you Blues!

Can we win this game, of cause we can.

Will we win this game, I have my doubts.

Those doubts having been caused by what I have witnessed with my own eyes this season. The team is defensively awful, we lack midfield creativity and we have attackers who with 2 exceptions can’t hit a barn door.

Would love to see O’Reilly next to Nico in cm. Won’t happen though. Foden and Grealish to keep possession. Gvardiol deffo fit.
Eddie
Nunes Khuzanov Dias Gvardiol
O’Reilly Nico
Foden Marmoush Grealish
Haaland

Doubt he’s fit enough after 2 international games but if Kev was fit enough I’d put him in Foden position and play Foden deeper instead of O’Reilly
