Bournemouth (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

The thing that was surprising/disappointing last night was how Bournemouth came and sat with 11 players behind the ball again.

All season they’ve been a really front-foot side and played with attacking football and aggression but last night just turned up and did what 99% of teams do at our place - dippers aside.

We have been poor and slow in our play for the majority of the season but it doesn’t help when teams just come and sit back for 90 minutes.

The sooner that style of play fucks off, the better.

And you get rag twats saying we’re boring because we play side to side without taking a step back and realising it’s impossible to play any other way against that set up.

I thought they were pretty open last night. In comparison to some teams we play.

Pete Ward the rag twat. Landlord of the Horseshoe, Droylesden Rd, Newton Heath. Good footballer back in the day
Only been in the Horseshoe twice and that was back in the eighties when Newton Heath Cricket Club, who I played for for over twenty years, got rained off. It doesn't look to have changed since then.

One positive was the quality of the Guiness from the DIY bar on SS3 last night. Very cold and lovely compared with the shit they serve behind the bars. The SC discount is automatically applied on that bar so £5.40. Best pint I’ve had up there all season.

I played for NH Cricket Club football team. Pete was left back. Johnny Morton was the manager.

I enjoyed it last night. It was a fairly decent game and we were treated to three cracking goals. It was vital to win and I thought we played some good football at times.

It was an emotional send off for KDB. I was genuinely nearly in tears.

Guinness should room temperature and not too cold.

Err...that was basically my point.
Half tine against Bournemouth may 1989 nobody thought anything could go wrong
Last night at half time i had the flashback when I should have been confident...

And folk saying Bournemouth were in holiday mode ...well that wasn't my perception, admittingly only watching in a pub..but comments posted on here about their midfield player Cook being in the refs ear whole game from the first minute ,Cooks over enthusiastic challenge leading to the red card ,the at times ,brilliant attacking play ,great accurate crosses and adroit defending by their wide right midfielder......all say to me that Bournemouth were well up for that game last night.
Imo
As evidenced by scoring the last goal of the match showed, they weren’t giving up. They also created a good opportunity where they hit the post.

And when they scored that last goal the scorer went racing back as if to say let's get another one.
Also Cook after his red card looked very angry to be sent off he didnt want to leave the pitch
Anyone flying into a centre mid challenge like that isn 't thinking about the summer break! Hes a damn good aggresive player impressed me with his industry.

Their right back looked well up for the game and should have scored when he motored into our box bursting past 3 challenges before blasting wide. The keeper was well on his game too.

Bournemouth were well up for the battle yesterday, fair play to them.

Eventually. But they spent 40 minutes of the first half sat behind the ball with the odd counter (one?) and then only kicked on when Kovacic got sent off after 70 minutes.

Cooks a ****, always has been, never forgiven him for doing a City player in the corner of Etihad a few years back (Aguero?), no intention of playing the ball, ref let him off with not even a chat.
