Bournemouth (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Decent performance against a team who were sort of on the beach.

Cracking Marmoush goal, Bernardo MOTM. Gundogan also good.

Pleased for Nico G and Rodri, sad to see Kev go.

Kovacic has become a very important player for us. I just hope we don't miss him at Fulham.

Stunning goals. A good job Bournemouth were on their holidays already. They didn't show up.

I enjoyed tonight’s game. Still room for improvement - especially at the back - but we took advantage of Bournemouth‘s casual approach by being much more direct. We attempted lots of through balls instead of the customary crab football.

Marvellous goal from the Pharaoh, three utterly crucial points and a great send-off for King Kev.

Marmoush and Kev as false wingers, with Gvardiol and Nunes going wide overwhelmed Bournemouth and should been how we played against Palace and Southampton imo.

Going into next season, we really need to double down on this 433 system.

We need to buy wide fullbacks to keep this going. They come in for Stones and whoever else.

Reijnders and MGW playing in the middle works as we should play with 3 in the middle as mixes of 6s and 8s, and not really 10s, since the false wingers will be tasked with this.

Foden, assuming he regains form, easily slots in for where KdB played today.

Overall, a decent show.
Wonderful strike from Marmoush and his general play was good. Haaland has to shape up.
Midfield did well, mistake by Kovacic, I can see why he made the foul but letting it go may have turned out better, who knows? Anyway it didn’t matter.
Terrific goal by Nico and nice cameo.
Nunes blunder didn’t matter except to underline that he is and always will be a liability. Hope we manage to get rid..
2:0, second half, another back line mess-up waiting at the corner, and KDB send off awaiting, and people think it is ok to let go with 2:1?

Evens after the lineup came out I was confident. I had a strong feeling that these guys would show up. That it didn’t matter who was on the pitch. They knew what was at stake. And that’s as the best football we’ve played in a long time. The all wanted it and wanted to get forward and score and keep a clean sheet. I’m very proud of the lads. Can’t imagine how great we could be if we had this attitude and better players. All it takes is one good game to change the mood.

I was confident as soon as I saw the 2 bang average, waste of space wingers weren't starting ;)

Not often you see 10 opposition outfield players in our half. Thankfully the chance they had hit the post and it stayed out.

The lineup was the tried and twisted and did the job. Bernardo was superb and fired up. Marmoush with a wonder strike.

Good result in a must-have game. Incredible that Marmoush can pull that out of the bag but can't score from 12 yards at the weekend - I honestly wish he'd pulled that rip snorter out at Wembley.

Other reminder tonight was the mystery of why Gonzalez hasn't played more this past 2 months. He's been criminally underused and should've started at Wembley too. I have no idea why he's been left watching for the majority of April/May.

The KDB send off was done well. How lucky were we to watch him for this past decade. The time is right for him to leave as he's not been the same player for 2 years as injuries/age have blighted him, but he's seen it all, won it all and left a legacy of brilliance and is arguably the finest player ever to wear our shirt. The debate between him, David Silva, Rodri and Colin Bell is a great one and there's no wrong answer.

On to Sunday and we need 1 point - or a Forest win/draw. Let's hope we get what we need.

Football is not your first language, is it?
I don’t know what does that mean.
I’ve no idea what you’re saying and to even contemplate the game was going to be a 2:2 begs belief.

And, it’s “farewell.”
ok, I got you. You meant English is not my first language. No not my first language. My apology.

And me saying if we concede a silly goal at 2:0 will lead to 2:2 seems not only baffled you in language but also in football knowledge. But you probably knew there was a goal conceded later on and Nico would be unlikely to score that goal if he was not even on the pitch to replace Kovacic. I don’t feel a likely 2:2 begs great imagination.

What colour are the rainbows in your world?

Take care. Happy you’re a Blue.
