Bournemouth (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Not sure he got it wrong, we were just very good and have better players.

Really impressed by how they sold 3 of their starting defenders in the summer, replaced them for less, and are now better for it. Impressed by their approach today also - if we hadn't been quite so good we'd easily have lost that.
Anytime that tries to play man mark us is practically obliging to tactical suicide. It’s the easiest way to make us feel confident. It was literally the only few games we played well last season, Villa did this and it backfired. You can’t leave Haaland 1v1 and give players like Foden space in the pockets

Didn’t realise that Bournemouth were above us going into the game, just shows how good they’ve been and how good that individual game was for us.

That’s why we love football, the underdog can prevail ;-)

Just got back, thought Pep got the lineup and tactics spot on today. Great to us play on the transition. Haaland unplayable. Nico G pulling the strings and orchestrating the side, excellent. Nunes played very well, and even got a few shouts out from the crowd, Cherki is going to be some player. NOR was solid and a good goal. Pep’s building again folks :)

I'm still fuming over the two handball shouts in quick succession the rag twat didn't look at but just casually waved away.
One was reviewed, don't think Taylor could see what it hit from his position. VAR looked at it and the decision was correct imho, as it deflected up off his knee/thigh onto the arm. Had it hit his arm directly VAR would have sent Taylor to review it.

Taylor how’s your bank account doing?
I don't think it's down to payments
But it's definitely down to a dislike of things in Blue from Manchester.
Its not as if we have battered his Altrincham each time we play them.
Maybe there's another reason?

First time this season we've performed good in both half's against a decent Bournemouth side to.
Loads of positives to take from today midfield looked great and that's without Rodri. Well deserved 3 points CTID

We can only play that though, if the opposition are high, most sit along the edge of the area, so we need a different plan than we've had. Iraola played to our strengths today, and we took them.

We might be able to catch the dippers next week, as they might do similar.

Not trying to be critical, just realistic.
Cherki unlocked a packed Swansea with Marmoush and did the same today with Doku and Phil when Bournemouth were all back. Doku played it a shade too heavy or Foden would have had a great look from the 6...

Can I just check that other than the fabulous fans of the South Stand - if anyone else was at the game? From the Colin Bell we could hear Earling breathing - Jesus what an embarrassing fan performance. Worse than Everton, despite some good football too…maybe I should stick to Away games only and boycott the Etihad…
Sorry
