Solid performance with the odd sparkling moment thrown in. Haaland only had a couple of half chances but seeing him live you see how frightening he is. The timing of his runs is excellent and it's good to see him pushing defenders around a little. Disappointed he couldn't get a goal but I thought Bournemouth actually defended very well despite shipping 4. They were very disciplined and gave up very little space to him.

Ake was my motm. He was excellent and getting up and down the pitch like he was desperate for a goal against his old club.

We arrived in our seats with two minutes to spare. It wasn’t the traffic; it was the ridiculous wait to have our phones scanned. Why have just one scanning player point, when so many are trying to get to their seat?

Credit to Bournemouth for the great job they did defending their goal, but it was plain for all to see that they couldn’t keep us out for the entire 90 minutes.

It was a relief, more than anything, when the first went in and Kevin’s goal was a cracker KdB and Phil assisted each other and Erling's assist for Ilkay's opener was excellent.

It wasn’t really a surprise that we took the foot off the gas during the second half, especially in that heat, and I’m glad Pep used all his subs, both to conserve the energy of some, and to give minutes on the pitch to others. I was delighted to see Rico Lewis make his Manchester City debut. I bet he’s buzzing tonight.

Finally, it was fantastic to see City’s Lionesses pitchside. The adulation they received was fully deserved.

Convincing display, extremely one-sided. I know it’s only the second game but honestly hope Liverpool, Spurs or Chelsea manage to keep up with us. If not we just turned the prem into Bundesliga.

Oh and start playing Alvarez. I want him involved.

Great result. Kev's goal was something of wonder that we really shouldn't any more. Think Haaland got a taste of the premier league today too. handled it well though. Top of the league and rags bottom. Great time to be a blue.

Solid professional performanc, more like a pre season friendly. But what the fuck was all that nonsense with the pyrotechnics before the match and why introduce seven lionesses and then we had to wait for six to come out. Obviously weren’t ready. Good of Bournemouth to wait until Jack came on to start kicking us, mainly Jack though what has he done to them. Their right back should have been sent off for continuously kicking him and then slapping Cancelo in the face. Good to see all five subs used and Bernardo can’t see how much he is loved here then he never will. We should tell Barca that it’s 100m and it has to be sorted by August 20 otherwise it’s 90m next June.

True… Foden pissed me off there, I’m sure he pissed Erling off too. Very poor from Phil on that occasion.
I thought Foden had the right to take the shot from there, even though the square pass was the better option in hindsight. I was more bothered by Haaland’s reaction - not great for team harmony.

If you’re not going to square it to a colleague for a certain goal, you’d better make sure you score. Haaland’s reaction whilst not desirable to see, was justified at the time. I’m sure on reflection he recognises this; as I’m sure Phil now realises he should have squared it for 1-0. Remember the shit Mahrez got for not squaring to Phil v Liverpool and then v Real. Same scenario as today, however they were tight games. Good job today was a stroll.

Haaland’s reaction was the same as the vast majority who saw the chance go begging.

At this stage, a lot of attacking players will go for goal themselves as they are so keen to get themselves off the mark. Had the chance arrived after Foden had scored, I’m pretty confident he’d have squared it.
