We really need to win this game to stay in touch at the top. We can beat Arsenal at home.

Honestly mate, im a fairly optimistic fan but if you think we're winning the title its better to give up hope now. This season is about securing champions league football and hopefully winning one of the domestic cups.

There’s no point in asking him to give up hope now, Ethan. He’s been keeping the faith since 1976 mate, don’t think he’s gonna stop now!

Tomorrow has a banana skin written all over it, they'll bring a shit following so the atmosphere will be flat. We'll go into the game expecting 3 points but they're a dangerous team on the counter which is our cryptnite.

That said if we start with the below we should have enough to dispatch Bournemouth 2-1 / 3-1. Shows where we're at because anytime in the last 5 years and id be predicting 4/5-0

Donnarumma

Nunes
Dias
Stones
Gvardiol

Nico

Silva
Foden
Cherki
Marmoush

Haaland
Please not Stones. We cannot play walking football against Bournemouth

you forgetting we have a ballon d’or winner?

Followed up by a terrible ACL injury that has pretty much put him out for more than 12 months with no guarantee he ever reaches that peak again.

Far too many are putting too much faith in Rodri that once he is back properly, everything will be all roses and unicorns. Need to hang fire in my opinion.

We’ve a very good record against them which is useful but we need a reaction after last week’s underperformance.

I think Pep got it wrong last week by not playing Nico O’Reilly. Nico was obviously not fully match fit which was an issue.

Definitely need to start integrating Cherki.

We’re at home against a very well coached side but we have the best coach in the world. I expect a reaction to the villa defeat tomorrow.

I really can't tell if this is going to be a tough game for City, or if Bournemouth will shrink in sight of the Etihad Stadium like they have done so many times over the years. I don't think they've been all that convincing, even in this run they're on, but they have the weapons to hurt us.

Their home form is strong but their away form is mixed. They lost at Liverpool despite having chances, they should have lost away to Palace recently but didn't, and they should have lost away at Leeds but managed to nick a late equaliser. They were comfortably the better team against Spurs in August, though.

And that's it. Not much to tell either way.

On the other hand we've been almost perfect at home in 2025 barring two games (0-2 vs Liverpool, 0-2 vs Spurs) but we've slipped into a habit of not really picking up results in games involving teams above us in the table at kick-off. We absolutely can put them into the floor, but whether we will is another matter.

Expecting to see the below:

Donnarumma
Nunes Dias Gvardiol O'Reilly
Gonzalez
Doku Foden Reijnders Marmoush
Haaland

Cherki was brilliant in the week but we've got to manage him carefully - he's another hamstring strain away from surgery. Rodri is back in training but he won't be ready just yet. Khusanov and Ait-Nouri are back but they're not sharp enough for Premier League games just at the moment. So I reckon 4-1-4-1 with that personnel.

Really? Don’t disagree with you on Reijnders, but exactly what is it that Foden offers?
He gets back and wins the ball. He gets around the pitch. Okay he is not physical but his ball recoveries are the highest of our midfield options bar Nico and Rodri. He covers more ground than anyone else in the league. Swapping Foden for Cherki will be more defensively damaging than swapping Reijnders for Cherki.

Foden is also better than Reijnders when he drops deep to help us progress the ball from defence to attack.

I for one would love to see Cherki and Foden in the same midfield.

2nd or eighth by tomorrow night
A draw puts us 4th on GD so 2nd, 4th or 8th :-)

We'll be absolutely fine. We've got an excellent record against Bournemouth and beat them easily 6 months ago. We've only ever dropped pts once and that was last season during our 1 win in 13 games at the Vitality stadium a game in which we also led.

Played 16 Won 15 Drawn 0 Lost 1 GF 51 GA 10

Probably jinxed us now lol but I'm going for a 3/4-1 City win.

Donnarumma

Stones Dias Gvardiol O'Reily

Gonzalez Reijnders

Foden Cherki Doku

Haaland

With pretty much a full squad to pick from I'd go with this with Rodri hopefully getting half hour.

Come on City

Cherki on the right instead of Savinho, Foden central is the answer. And for the umpteenth time, Cherki played on the right for Lyon, for anyone who doesn't get it.

..........................Donna

Nunes.........Dias...........Gvardiol......O'Reilly

....................Gonzalez

...................Bernardo

Foden....................................Marmoush

....................Haaland

One more needed but unsure because of injuries and fitness. Don't want an extra wide attacking player.

I don't hate the idea of Cherki on the right as long as Nunes is playing RB and providing width so Cherki can drift inside.

If we play Khusanov there, then I 100% don't want Cherki wasting hugging the touchline - nor do I want Khusanov finding himself in right winger territory.

Honestly no reason why a midfield 3 of Nico or Rodri, Foden and Cherki couldn't work.
