I really can't tell if this is going to be a tough game for City, or if Bournemouth will shrink in sight of the Etihad Stadium like they have done so many times over the years. I don't think they've been all that convincing, even in this run they're on, but they have the weapons to hurt us.
Their home form is strong but their away form is mixed. They lost at Liverpool despite having chances, they should have lost away to Palace recently but didn't, and they should have lost away at Leeds but managed to nick a late equaliser. They were comfortably the better team against Spurs in August, though.
And that's it. Not much to tell either way.
On the other hand we've been almost perfect at home in 2025 barring two games (0-2 vs Liverpool, 0-2 vs Spurs) but we've slipped into a habit of not really picking up results in games involving teams above us in the table at kick-off. We absolutely can put them into the floor, but whether we will is another matter.
Expecting to see the below:
Donnarumma
Nunes Dias Gvardiol O'Reilly
Gonzalez
Doku Foden Reijnders Marmoush
Haaland
Cherki was brilliant in the week but we've got to manage him carefully - he's another hamstring strain away from surgery. Rodri is back in training but he won't be ready just yet. Khusanov and Ait-Nouri are back but they're not sharp enough for Premier League games just at the moment. So I reckon 4-1-4-1 with that personnel.
