Bournemouth tickets on sale from Wednesday 1st February

Completely agree with you on this one. I have no problem with tourists wanting to go to games, but why do they need to be at arsenal away?

I can't speak on their behalf, but surely a tourist isn't particularly arsed whether they're at a home or away game. Why wouldn't they just go and watch us at home.

No problem with tourists being at the game, but they should never ever be ahead of match going fans in the queue for away tickets

Probably using the away games to try and build up the ‘fanbase’ in London. I seem to remember they had a spell of putting on some kind of executive package few years ago for London aways. Dinner at swanky London hotel. Meet an ex player. Transfer to the ground. And of course a ticket. And then they had those specials up from London for home European games I think.

I think the Friday night game in the Cup at West Ham educated the Club that they didn’t have to do anything special to increase the fan base in the South. A thousand general sale tickets sold on the day or two before the game, many to Southern based Blues.

It isn't building a fan base, it is just profiting from away sales. The first City in the City at Chelsea in 2015 a top 2 game with us needing to win to close a 5 point gap. The club made extra on the packages as it was a half price game, and sold out 1500 points higher than the Arsenal away (also half price) earlier that year.

After that game it seemed the access to away tickets via points for big games changes forever.

That was 8 years ago and it was profiteering at the time. I think the other downside was more people realised the value of away tickets for big games and it increased touting.

The biggest tout appears to be the club. Wonder how many of these fans who somehow obtain tickets for away games now would have trekked to Plymouth away twice (three times if you include the postponed game) in five days or midweek to the north east or South London back in the day.

Everyone needs to read the first sentence of the above.
This and only this is the answer to the away ticketing problems at Manchester City Football Club.
And unfortunately until we call them out on it and stop blaming supporters clubs, alleged points whores and all and sundry,it is only going to get worse.

Maybe so. I’ve enjoyed those trips travelling, back from places like Swansea and Bucharest in the middle of the night to be in work then next morning. My employer wasn’t so charitable though and it was a career change for me.

I don’t like the people who run City’s administration and I’ve said so many times. Instead people call out e.g. Soriano, whose never going to be about to pass a few tickets under the table for title deciders.

Fans are always going to use their initiative to get hold of tickets and if you can’t beat them you might’ve have to join them.

Apart from having a couple tickets offered to me by kind Bluemooners that I’m very grateful for, it’s several years since I’ve been to a game I didn’t have the points for. Like many I had no qualms being in the home end at Brighton and I don’t like going to the swamp or Klanfield much anyway.

As an exiled London Blue and 35 year season ticket holder - I thought the train specials for the midweek European games were fantastic! As I remember you had to have had a ticket to the game before booking the train - it wan't a 'package' - and from memory, they were full of genuine SC folks - very few tourists. It meant not having to stay overnight in Manchester (always wonderful - but not if you have work at 8am the next morning) and not having to navigate the hour+ it takes to get onto the M6 after a game, followed by a 5 hour drive through diversions, night works and closed motorways back to London. I would say bring them back...but knowing Avanti, it would take a few weeks these days to get home after the match...

I wasn’t suggesting everyone on the special got a ticket. Although it wouldn’t really be an issue for home games anyway. I was talking about the package for London games. Although I admit I’m only guessing and don’t know that for a fact. I do know those premium tickets at European aways are available to anyone prepared to pay up though.

What I’m find very frustrating is I’ve found that some posters only ever post in the ticket forum and don’t contribute in the main board at all. And it’s not just one post asking for a ticket it’s 5/6 posts every away game asking for a ticket and seemingly the first one to pm when by luck one does come up.

Maybe I’m just frustrated by todays result by it’s a tad galling when you see the same names constantly cropping up on every ticket thread.

Once again. Another away end with lots of tourists when genuine blues struggled to get tickets and still travelled !!!

Absolutely full of them today, why the fuck am I getting strange looks for singing at an away game.

I never moan about tourism at home games, of course tourists are gonna want to come to the etihad and watch Haaland.

However, these twats have absolutely no right to be in our away end, when many blues who go week in week out didn't even come close.

Fuck 60% or whatever we agreed on, it should be 100% going to the fans

Have to agree about the tourists yesterday, a row of orientals to a man just recording the game through their phones, it really is time to end this platinum nonsense, it is misleading and disingenuous, tourists should be welcome at home, but aways should always go to the most deserving, and it really isn’t the case, and hasn’t been for a long while, and why anyone records a game through a phone is beyond me.

Can’t comment on yesterday’s away support as I wasn’t there. But there is a definite increase in Far East supporters at our home games, evident against Wolves, etc. I would assume many are Hong Kongers who have recently moved to Manchester.

I work in the retail sector and we’ve seen a huge rise in Hong Kongers shopping where I work.

As a rule Hong Kongers are pretty well off and have plenty of money to spend. I would assume the club have noted the amount of Hong Kongers moving to Manchester, their wealth, are tapping into that, trying to attract them to City before they go to United.

Not only full of tourists filming but also full of piss heads and coke head all together sitting / standing in other people’s allocated seats. Go where your fucking ticket says to go not wherever you fanc. Big shout out to the lady who told them to move out of her seat and then one got too handsy told him in no uncertain terms what would happen if he did it again. Also Euston was full after the game of ‘youth’ which whilst is great to see really need an accompanying adult so they can learn to behave. Utter bellends.
