Every night i watch a different fight, i know boxing started way before the Ali/foreman/frasier/"R" Enery era but from the late 60s through to present there have been some wonderful wonderful encounters. You have this lot.... Duran my all time fave and the first fight with Leonard was fukin breathtaking, he was a maaaaaaaaaaaaaad man that night for sure.

Then you have the Benn/Eubank/Collins era, not to mention "the cat" Thompson.

You have Berrera/hamed/Morales
Btw the Barrera/Morales affairs were pound for pound the finest fights that have ever been fought, just my opinion of course.

Mayweather/Pacman/Hatton/Tszyu/De la Hoya/Marquez etc etc... fantastic division and era.

and for me the most explosive Boxer to have burst onto the scene bar none.. oh dear...

please add more, lovin' it.

Re: Boxings just great.

Boxing WAS great. These days there a people fighting for a title after only 20 or so pro fights. Few characters, few rivalries, bit bland for me. Or I could just be getting older and prefer things how it was

Re: Boxings just great.

Bernard Dunne V Ricardo Cordoba to be there live to watch it ringside amazing stuff. 5 knockdowns over 11 rounds a fight of the year contender and a amazing atmosphere.

Also I loved some of the domestic fights. Mat Macklin v Jamie Moore was a brilliant fight for me.
Also Alex Arthur v Michael Gomez was a brilliant fight too to watch.

Theres so many fights to mention. Saying that there is some tasty fights to look forward to seeing involving British and Irish fighters which will be brilliant to see.
Haye v Fury it will be good for as long as it lasts.
Frampton v Quigg when it happens it will be a brilliant top class fight and worth a PPV billing.
Groves v Froch another 1 that will be a great watch the young pretender to Frochs title and add in James Degale too all good.
Khan v Brook another that should and will happen and well worth a look.
Also with the Barker V any of Macklin , Murray , Lee and even Billy Joe Saunders there is some tasty fights. Its all about getting them signed and sealed. Boxing within the UK / Ireland are in a strong place to put on some big shows and big fights.

To be honest mate i think we have just been spoilt, i mean take the above fights and just wow, every single one of them wanted to be top dog in their respective division, awesome isn't even close to what we had and i can't get enough of "those" fights from "that" era.

-- Sun Sep 01, 2013 12:53 pm --

Haha mate Im only 31 lol. I will see what I can come up with. I know the fights you mentioned were brilliant so far. I will have a think but anything with Haggler , Durran and Sugar Ray always delivered for me. Trying to think. Another 1 I liked was Calzagne v Eubank.

Re: Boxings just great.

I will be perfactly honest but I no longer know the names of any decent boxers anymore..
70s 80s & 90s was the best times for me.
