Boycott The Lass O'Gowrie Pub

The City and Sunderland game is on at the Lass on Sunday. Whats the betting that the place is heaving. What a great piece of free advertising and publicity the landlord has got. Those who never knew it existed now know it does.
 
I think there should be summat organised here, we could have a laugh at Gareths expense (sorry Gareth!)

How about people get Gaudino on their back and they all go in one after another? Gareth thinks "oh so thats the sod who said he was boycotting", then he sees another with the same thing on his back and in the end none of them end up being him.

I'd actually pay to see that and it'd still cost less than a pint at the lass ;-)
 
I think its fair play to the landlord for taking the time to sign up to Bluemoon and put forward his side of things and in a polite manner. He didn't have to but, he clearly cares about his business and it's reputation and clearly doesn't want to exclude City supporters from his pub. I've not been in the Lass in years to be honest but, I always used to find it a friendly and lively place and never encountered any trouble with people - punters or staff alike. Pubs shouldn't be for football fans exclusively anyway, they would lose their licenses if they were. They are supposed to serve the direct community and welcome travellers as a social house hence the word "pub" not exclude people. Football fans would do well to remember this. Most pub landlords I know wouldn't get into a debate about which team they support, preferring to remain neutral out of respect to their customers.
 
i think he should put a city scarf up above the bar or they can fuck off.

i've been in the lass a good few times. the idiots tried doing a quiz night over one uefa cup game a few years ago. the girl doing the quiz was trying to tell us all to shut up, so we just started shouting out all the answers until they stopped and had to wait until the game ended.

Have you read the Landlords reply to the accusation?

Looks like his the OP's version of events are a little different. The Landlord has been very dignified in his response to this and, after considering his version, I feel didn't deserve to be dragged through the mud in such a way.

Well done to the Landlord and The OP for promoting this pub, well maybe the OP was genuinely organising a boycott - but as I said with the recent negative articles in the newspapers: any publicity is good publicity.

This pub will be packed out tomorrow with City fans, guaranteed many haven't even been to The Lass before but go after seeing this topic.

Well done you! You should have been awarded a VC for your initiative in having a go at the girl. If the "one uefa cup game" was a City game you could have been there; anyone else, why did you even care?
