Brace yourself for Mrs Brown's Boys bbc1 tonight.

Well both me and the wife think it's funny and not a shabby half hour for cheap laughs beats the likes of eastenders et all in my book.

But the canned laughter does my head, I dont need told when I'm meant to laugh, you can see the live audience laughing so why not use that.

I liked it, it is what it is. Old fashioned, corny in places but some genuine laugh out loud moments.
Does help if you have an Irish family, though.
It's certainly funnier than these stage school comics who have appeared on our screens the last couple of years, all skinny jeans and preposterous haircuts, like a bunch of fucking students drinking Freetrade decaf lattes in the Northern Quarter.

As i said earlier it will be like marmite you will either like it or hate it. He has a lot of fans over here in the older generation 50s plus who go to his shows all the time a core fanbase and if he can tap into the UK market as well he could well be touring all over the UK with Mrs Browns Boys. I like it for what it is and to leave in the messed up lines is refreshing for a comedy.

It is desperately poor. I can't understand how Brendan O'Carroll ever made it as a ''comedian''. Dermot Morgan was/is streets ahead of him.
Whatever happened to Tommy Tiernan? Very good stand up, seems to have disappeared.

Tommy is still about he will be starting his tour in Austrailla think he is over there for nearly a month or 2. Smart move by Tommy with the amount of Irish now out there working. Then in June he has a couple of dates in Dublin and Belfast. More than likely he will be over in the UK touring as well.

Good old Tommy just thinking the amount of comedians that was on Father Ted that have gone on to better things after it. Be it Graham Norton , Tommy Tiernan , Jason Byrne , Pat Short , Ed Byrne and Brendan Grace all went on to bigger and better things after that.
