Bradford disaster.

This is why the song we'll buy your club and burn it down is very distasteful and embarrassing.
So to all that sing it STOP.

Only just realized that, good point.

Truly horrible disaster, it's a shame that more people don't know about it. Much like Hillsborough, it's hard to comprehend the amount of devastation this actually caused throughout families... Not just those that died.

RIP, x

A very sad day.

Just watched it and the power of the fire was unbelievable. I hope the guy engulfed in flames at the end made it okay. Sad day for all of football. RIP to all those unfortunate souls and condolenses to all their family members.

A former neighbour of mine was at the game, he was a Lincoln City supporter. I bet there's not many people who can remember who Bradford were playing that day and it was a promotion party for Bradford.

My neighbour had got a seat in the stadium but when he got to it there was a Bradford fan in it. He didn't want to cause a fuss because it was their big day so he stood at the back of the stand and watched the game.

The fire started very near where his seat would have been. He counted himself very lucky.

Also can you imagine the stress to families waiting to see if their loved ones were amongst the dead and injured.

I remember him telling me he waited hours to make a phone call in a phone booth outside the ground. Everyone had the same idea to ring home - obviously no mobiles then.

Football in the sky

In perpetuity, I see the flames
Flicker through my mind
In perpetuity, I see the names
Written on the wall
Forever that day is with me
But I do not wish it not
For fifty six reasons in me
It can never be forgot.

When May arrives, year after year
A shiver comes to me
I cannot help but shed a tear
But I know it will always be
Never forget!, Never forget!
I sing out loud and cry
Fifty six reasons in me
Watching football in the sky.
