Brave Italians at it already

The assailant might as well have worn a Roma shirt and sang their songs whilkst stabbing him, but as long as it's miles away from the ground UEFA will do fuck all.

Scum. And if they retaliated I guarantee the Carabinieri would've been on them in a flash.

Sorry guys, I'm not very PC and I don't give a flying fart what happens to them, especially not on a blues forum. They all know the risks, as we always did at Leeds and Milwall atc..........

Let them get on with it.

Paul.

ok, now this is too much:

Breaking news:

* LATEST: American mistaken for Manchester United fan victim of second stabbing incident in Rome. More details soon ... (from guardian website)

As an American I am seriously pissed off, both that this guy was stabbed AND that he was mistaken for a rag.

Why the Italians keep get given second chances is bullshit. Blatter and Platini need to get over their hatred of English football, and start sorting out the real problems in football.
Blatter and Platini need to get over their hatred of English
That will never happen i'm afraid, this trouble with italian fans stabbing English fans has been going on for a long time.
The events in Rome in 1984 It can be argued that the Heysel Stadium Tragedy really began the year before. Liverpool had reached the European Cup Final for the fourth time in their history. The Final was to be held on the home ground of their opponents, AS Roma. After a tense game, Liverpool won in a penalty shoot-out. What received rather less coverage was the roaming scooter gangs hunting down Liverpool supporters, stabbing and slashing dozens, many of whom were family groups returning to hotels in the area. One 13-year-old boy was almost ripped apart, needing 200 stitches in his face alone. Many hoteliers refused to let their English guests in, either out of spite or for fear of subsequent attacks on their premises. There was little protection from the Italian Police, who routinely attacked and robbed English supporters in revenge for the defeat of the local team. That night, many desperate English fans, deserted by Italian coach drivers booked to drive them to Rome airport..............
.....We know what happened next,no way can you condone Heysel but how often can you turn the other cheek.
If the rags lose & more stabbings take place the fuckin ground will shake in Rome.

uefa got the warning signs earlier this season....in fact, fuck that, they had the warning signs for the past few seasons....especially when the police basterdised the rags inside the stadium!

platini needs a large, clown size shoe boot from uefa for allowing the final to be there....and the italian team/league really needs to be punished for never putting a stop to this.

did the roma / police ever get punished for the beat down they gave the rags?

Why should A.S Roma be punished for what the police did? The ground is NOT owned or indeed anything to do with the club apart from the fact they rent it for a few hours every fortnight. As such they have no control over the police.Indeed if the police on the day of the match hadn't tried to make such an impression by actually being on the terraces (for the first and only time in the season) there may not have been as much aggro.....The usual scenario being that there would have been no stewards/police on the red/rag side of the Curva and the Roma Ultras looking after themselves on the other side of the fence..

The police however HAVE a case to answer NOT A.S Roma..

He was probably wearing a new york yankees cap and the attacker recognised it as being pat of the man u uniform (from the manc not yank protests).

Seriously though there is no place for this in football nowadays
