Breaking records/stats thread

Call me an optimist but I can't see us getting relegated
Neither can I. I just happen to think the points record is a better one to hold as unbeaten really means fuck all, the point is to win games, the rags last season being a perfect example of that.

Yeah I agree, if we break the points record there can't be any debate about whether we're the best PL team ever.

On the one hand, I don't care how we win the league, on the other, we've won it twice on the last day of the season, so winning it early would make for a nice change.

The football we're playing though, that's something else, and yes we've maybe at best got one finger on the trophy right now, but anything could happen. We don't want to pull a Liverpool and book the bus and start the celebrations early, not until we've actually done it. But irrespective of the points, we're playing the best football I've seen from an English side ever. Rags might go on and on about their treble team, but they scraped through a poor league with 79 points, including 3 losses and 13 (!) draws. If Arsenal had scored one more goal (in one of 12 matches they drew), they'd have won that season. And there's no guarantee we're going to get any silverware, at any moment the wheels could come off and typical city returns but we've been witness to the best football played in this county in the modern era (at least), and it's just been magical.

One game at a time, and let the records keep falling.

Winning it on or just before 7th April would be perfect!

Newcastle away, Palace away, Watford home, for the all-time consecutive wins record in a major European league. Will we do it?
