Just a note of caution here

Which breed is responsible for most visits to hospital after a dog bite?

Yep, it's the golden retriever/labrador.

That's actually true. Vets vote for bastard of the year dog ;)

I've always had boxers but they are loopy if you don't teach them early to be calm and not jump up. The big problem you face is people over fussing them when they are pups and you have to make sure people (especially strangers) don't do it, because its no fun when the dog is 7 stone lol

Boxers are children at heart, soft as putty and easy to train. They don't like being left alone though and from pup to about 2 years old they can and will be destructive if left alone. Mine had doors, carpets. My third boxer had his own very very large cage for when he was a pup until I could trust him to be left unattended for any length of time. My current boxer is actually alot less crazy than my first two were.

Oh and if getting a boxer I always recommend males over females. Males are more docile, better with children and less prone to being snappy but I have that opinion with all dogs.

I have a video of my boxer. Every night I sit down and he starts on me. It's funny to watch, I don't even have to do anything he just hates being ignored lol. I'll try and put it on he thread but its hard to post youtube links on my phone

My dog only really growls to be playful. All my boxers have been like that. If I got up he'd crap himself. He's amazing with kids. His dad is a champion show don't and has loads of champions in his bloodline
