Brentford (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Maybe Nico would have stopped the cross
Maybe Jack would have held the ball upon their final third Maybe

Exactly, maybe :) Savinho didn’t stop a cross and Akanji had two brain farts. The subs weren’t culpable for either goal.

And looking to improve every position bar the most glaringly obvious hole which is in midfield.

I know transfers are complex but how can we not be in for some kind of midfielder even on loan?
Yep, really hope we have something up our sleeves. We can't just let this season drift away with a whimper

This match could have ended 4-4 or something.

Brentford is a very dangerous team, thus before we scored there were several moments of great defending by Aké and Gvardiol, even Haaland was helping.

BUT, once we scored we couldn't keep the lead, it was an ominous sight, there's always a brainfart waiting to happen in our back, started with Nunes giving a useless free kick and ended with Akanji chasing butterflies, and the lads can't kick it to row zed when required.

Still, we didn't lose, though we were very close.

I’ve already written off this season, so a draw was not a bad result.

No reason to write it off, mate. Chin up. The title's long gone. I'm kind of enjoying observing it from the sidelines, for the first time in years.
CL's maybe gone. In any case, we're not winning it.
We've still got F.A. Cup business to look after. That interests me. And we've got the question of top four. That's still very much to be decided. That'll do me, so long as we bring new blood in (and quality new blood), and Pep resets the team.
It's an “off” season, but only by previously ridiculous standards.

Meanwhile, what concerns me most is the ruling on the 115, to be honest. That surely can't be far away now?

Failure to get top 4 will undoubtably make our summer rebuild harder both financially and player pull wise.

We’re lucky at the moment other teams are dropping points and this round of games only means Arsenal and Newcastle may get a jump on us.

Have to say, I do like Brentford and the way they play and always been a fan of Thomas Frank.

He may well be one of those coaches that suits the level he’s at right now but it would be good to see, and he think he deserves it, him have a go with a bigger club.
