Brentford (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

We played good football for the first time in months. The funny thing that annoyed me was Pep taking Foden off. People have criticised Pep for years for not making subs but I really felt that we should just not be making any changes as things were working.

Just watched the motd coverage, we have some lazy twats in our team when we're under defensive pressure.

I'll happily name 2 from that coverage, Haaland and Savinho, if they could have been arsed doing any defending, we'd have won 2-0, you can add Doku in there too, he's another, wasn't his fault last night as he wasn't involved, but he's the same, it really fucks me off.

Yeah, the last four seasons have been so good, and superior to anything other teams could muster that a fifth was perhaps a season too far!!
We will be back so much so that even FOC's like myself will have something to smile about football wise in between changes to my underpants at some nursing home because I can longer make it to the toilet on my own and I am not that far off that time being a reality (LOL).

Not sure the result would have changed but I thought we let them back due to lack of midfield pressure they just ran dry and even though they had some chances earlier on we had the better ones and should have been 3-0 up by the 78th minute , Bernardo stopped running however your point is well made , we don't pressure oppositions enough in the areas that matter.

We would have kept that to 2-0 or 2-1 in days gone by , not sure about introducing Ilkay at all in that match , I would have used Grealish because at least he can stop the play and we needed more possession in our half in the final 15 minutes

Our midfield in too old , too slow and too exposed and Haaland has to do more defensively if we are to win these types of games until we get better runners with an eye for a quick pass in front of someone with pace and overlap.

Travelled down on the coach organised by roytoncity who will be known to many on here.Mans a legend in my book.

Just wanted to say what a great bunch they were (apart from mayo31 ;) lol ) as they made an outsider feel very welcome and I thought it was brilliant how they all helped each other.
Even the digging up of the M60 on the way back did not dampen spirits.

Made me even prouder to be Blue.

We left ground 2145 and we're back on Broadway by 0140. So easy get away

Thought it was a fair result, on another day it could have been 5-5.

Brentfords tribute to Skip showed their class as a club and fanbase.

Honestly, I watched the game carefully, and the more I think about it, the more I have to recognise that Brentford played some very handsome football at many points throughout the evening. At no point were they being overrun, and they were always having a go at us. I was particularly favourably impressed by their one-touch triangular passing, surprisingly precise (because it's never an easy thing to pull off at speed) which regularly got them up the pitch and beyond our press very rapidly.
Actually, we could usefully take a leaf out of that book.
I don't exactly understand how they'd lost several games in a row, but they didn't seem to be the least bit depressed about it.

Not very often at any level of football you see a striker bang in front of goal with so much time and space, he controlled the ball, smoked his pipe, put on his slippers and slammed the ball into our unprotected net
Yes i noticed that he is not quickly closing the gap, i hope he learns from his mistakes this season, he costed us alot.
