Another capitulation, absolutely piss weak. Don’t let those games against dire Leicester and West Ham fool you - we are far from out of the woods with another horrific run of games coming.

We’re finishing nowhere near top 4 defending as we are - been going on nearly 3 months now and we look even worse at the back.

Players hiding, half arsing and showing no character is inexcusable. We need a major clear out if we didn’t already know it.

I don't get it either.

Contact should have been made to potential targets in December. The player agrees in principal and As soon as the window opens we contact the club of the player, ask the fee, pay it and they sign.

We will still be fucking about this time next week.

The subs weren’t the reason we lost that game. We did the play he wanted after making the subs, the issue was individual brain farts by players that had been on the pitch from the start.

This thread is making me think I watched a different game - one where we were defensively sound with Kovacic on the pitch, and we had numerous defensive midfield options on the bench but Gundogan came on instead and scored two own goals. In reality, the Gundogan change made absolutely no difference whatsoever to that result. None.

The midfield is a huge problem, Yet we aren't signing one in January, It's crazy.

We'll sign two defenders and use Akanji as a stop gap for midfield until Rodri comes back.

I don’t think we will get anywhere near to being back to our best until we sort out centre midfield. Excited for these potential signings but unless we somehow sign a more defensively aware cm we will struggle.

First of all great game. Yeah gutted didn’t win but you have to say Brentford had their chances. Kev purring again, foden scoring, more tenacity and energy. Savinho dangerous. Harland better hold up play. Yeah could have been more clinical but then so could opposition. Still fragile at the back but less so. And our ability to kill a game off when ahead seems to have gone. But I’m feeling better about top four now. Let’s not get dragged into what commentators were trying to do and talk this into being a catastrophe. It wasn’t.

Haaland did not have a good game by his standards. I normally appreciate his hold up play but tonight he looked knackered.

Should have been off during the second half, he could hardly move.

Defensive set up is really poor, far too narrow leaving players out wide in acres of room and total lack of effort or intensity to stop crosses coming in to the box.

Definitely a momentum-killer for Erling. Terrible body language tonight, but totally understandable when he's been continually running into space and not getting the ball, over the past god-knows-how-long?
