Brentford (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

he was shambolic tonight. a rest ??? why he's not injured. he let a guy inches smaller out jump him for their second goal and bang goes 2 points

nearly cost us in the UCL final as he always has a mistake in him. he was protected by having Rodri in front and Dias alongside. vastly overrated as Ake is streets ahead. dortmund fans weren't bothered when he left.
hes ok but not elite and wouldn't start when Dias is back. he's praised as he was gotten cheap, but our defence this year can't stop conceding and he's at the heart of it
The amount of duels and headers he looses is staggering with his height and frame.

We don't suffer from asthma*

I agree though just put it on probably torture myself as no doubt they will get an injury time winner.

Something we don't do. Sighs.

Seriously I don't know why other teams are far fitter, all top4 who play as many games. Just baffling. And costly.
I read Pep’s biography recently and they talk about one of the seasons (can’t remember which one) where we had so many injuries the squad pretty well stopped training hard. They just did light drills to avoid injury.

I said on here a few weeks ago that this squad is clearly not fit and look as though they have not been told not to go in hard for tackles. I strongly suspect Pep and his coaching staff are just trying to guard against more injuries.

I love pep mate.
He's the best ever.
But he's not perfect.
Nothing is.
Ask any martial arts instructor and they'll tell you all the black belt level is the white belt level but done correctly..
Do the basics right then the rest will follow.
We can't defend for toffee.

Pep always gambles on defending hoping to outscore the other team
But having a weakness at left back for 10 years and keeps winning Silverware is unreal

The meltdown continues. I reckon it goes past 170 tonight.
Not a meltdown mate.

Going 2 up with 12 to go and not winning is criminal.
We had far better options on the bench than those used.

Would have been better not making any subs compared to those that were made.

Fucking madness and threw 2 points away. A huge dent to the fragile confidence that was being restored.

An end to end game. Seeing games out has been a problem all season.

Would have been a travesty if the chance at the end had gone in and lost the game.

The subs weren’t the reason we lost that game. We did the play he wanted after making the subs, the issue was individual brain farts by players that had been on the pitch from the start.
The lack of the right subs contributed to leaving tired legs on the pitch Make more subs and do it one after the other to break momentum of the game like most managers do It was clear that Erling and Kev were fucked he should have seen the match out with the right subs has many in here have pointed out

I thought it was a fair result.

But having taken an undeserved 2-0 lead, i was surprised we gave up that lead, again!

We looked good at times and we'll get better, but we need to get some old faces back in the side and buy some new faces, especially in midfield.

Can't keep carrying these players that have hit the brick wall

Can carry a De Bruyne, as he still works hard and is capable of creating a winning moment

But can't keep carrying a Nunes, a Kovacic, a Bernardo, a Gundogan on top of having clear issues with the 1st choice keeper

Don't think we did enough to win tonight, but it's so clear that there's 4 or 5 first team regulars, who look like they're at the end of the road, and unfortunately, they're still being relied on as that's all we have

Fingers crossed this Marmoush comes in and sparks us in the final 3rd, as Haaland is crying out for some link up, and then hopefully we can bring in something in midfield
I think an easier way to say it mate is that's it's all gone a bit stale..

Team definitely needs perking up with fresh faces..
