Brentford (A) - Post-Match Thread

Pep's either got to start using his subs or stop complaining that we don't get five subs. I genuinely don't mind which but one or the other please. To complain that we don't get five, then often not even use three or even sometimes one feels very... Klopp-ish.
Agree it’s frustrating but I think his strategy in a tight game where there is a quick turnaround is to trust the players on the pitch to manage the game to a conclusion. Also prevents any subs potentially succumbing to muscle type injuries. Are they also not constantly looking at the performance trackers during a game?

I’d be expecting to see maybe 5 changes to the starting line-up on Saturday.

back in Sterling, Mahrez, Gundog and Zin, and maybe a further one if any of the injured trio are available.

Yeah it's crazy I didn't celebrate either goal until well after it's a spoiler for sure. Just pause it look at the feet and decide or make the lines thicker and if the overlap it's on. The chances of them stopping the play at the exact time the ball touches the foot is a crap shoot.
I celebrated the Laporte one as it just looked a good goal from the TV angle. Foden’s I was convinced was offside from first viewing. In reality, both of those goals wouldn’t have been controversial before VAR and nobody would have complained if Laporte’s stood.

It was a physical game and stood up to the test and another clean sheet. Brentford are a tough uncompromising team at home.

The ball didn’t seem to run with any pace when longer passes were made.

If anyone had said early in the month we would be coming out of this game 8pts ahead I would of settled for that.

Shambolic to watch. Slow motion for 90 minutes. Too many bad performances to mention. Very fortunate they never nicked a goal. The positives are that we wont play so badly again for a long time. MOTM Foden.
Must of been watching a different game to me. Apart from a couple of minutes before we scored Brentford offered absolutely nothing going forward.

We were in complete control and pretty much all of the second half we were in game management mode to conserve energy.

Shambolic we were certainly not

She just had to come out with that again didn’t she!! I was feeling so good and her jealousy has annoyed me! It is nothing more than jealousy. None of them can give us wholesome praise even this stupid Brentford manager! I wasn’t bothered about where they finished but I’m gradually thinking run along you silly so and so!!!! :-(

He doesn't do it all the time, United was the last time we didn't make a sub. By the same train of thought, if we were in no danger of conceding, would we be in anymore danger if he had decided to preserve legs and put a fresh forward on the pitch that will be able to work harder than whoever he replaces?

Either way, it's not something either of us needs to take any further, it's a relatively trivial thing that neither of us will ever know whether it may or may not have an impact on us going forward so I shall leave it there mate.

Well stop going on about it then you whinging fucker.

Only joking, I’ll leave it there.

Gabby Logan must be going on a hot date with brentfords manager, probably couldn't get klipperty so settled for his doppelganger

I know. One fella on the match thread said if we play like this Arsenal will put 3 past us! We looked solid as fuck at the back tonight, all game

Ha, ha, ha. The saddest and possibly most over used cliche City supporter use when we don't give what they think is a stellar performance.

What matters is how we played today against today's opponent and more importantly what the result was.

Don't do the job in any game and you will likely lose. We've done the job in ten consecutive games, again, and won more top flight league games in calendar year than has ever been done before.

Can't tell if the side were lethargic or just coasting it tonight. Same attitude vs Arsenal and we'll lose that one. Mahrez, Gundogan and Sterling will/should all play and we'll look a different team. Up the ten-in-a-row, hungover, playing-on-empty, champion blues
