Exactly. They had no real intention of coming out of their shape, Let's be honest you can't really blame them because they would of been taken apart.

One thing that was frustrating was giving cheap silly fouls away like knocking Toney over when the ball is at his chest on the half way line...

We never got to our best and I thought Brentford were only part of the reason for that. I think Bernardo plays better on the right and Jesus on the left. Grealish I hope improves for next season because this tonight, in the words of Shania Twain " That don`t impress me much"

I also thought Laporte and Dias were off it by a good way whether that was as much down to the bounce of the ball as it was the Brentford forwards it`s a hard call.

Shout out to Ake who had his best performance in our shirt. Also Fodens hard work.

IMO opinion we were saved by a fantastic Kev pass, a great finish by Phil and some last ditch defending
 
A hard watch at times, but a win, no goals conceded, and no injuries(hopefully), brentford tried it on a bit and didnt deserve anything from the game.

They took points from dipperpool though, scared chelsea and beat arsenal, so they are ok by me, and at least they get players forward and I hope they stay up.

Re the offside, it should be feet only, they are normally on the ground thus eradicating this verticle dotted line shit which is so easy to manipulate, Eric was offside down to where upper arm was jugded to be on both players, coupled with that dreaded verticle line, it needs simplifying.
 
Real scrappy game due to how Brentford were set up. They actually defended well and didn’t get cut open many times so in that sense it worked for them I suppose.
The sort of game that you realize with about 30 mins to go that there’s gonna be no more goals in and it’s just about seeing the game out Wouldn’t even bother watching the highlights of it again!
We can’t expect the players to be on top of their game every match especially in this busy period.
Just hope we don’t have to go into a big CL game later in the season without Rodri having watched Fernandinho recently

They wanted a defeat that didn't fuck their goal difference. And that's exactly what they got.

I expected them to hang on for 80 minutes, which they did - and fair play there, but they fouled and dived all night, aided and abetted by the referee first half, but even he seemed to tire of it, then have a go at us to try and force something late on, that was my point, the last 10 minutes they did nothing new.

Ferna was superb tonight no? They had no shots in the second half. We cruised to and away win with very little effort and a clean sheet. Hardly shambolic. I think expectations on here are off the scale. What we are witnessing here is very very special. To call that shambolic is mind boggling to me. But hey it's all about opinions so fair do's
