We need the best 11 on the pitch for this game, momentum is everything.
Everything? Doesn’t freshness and fitness come into it? Momentum my be everything if you’re emerging from a bad run and need another win. But that’s not City. We need the players in the best possible physical condition for the cup finals. We need the best 11 on the pitch for this game, momentum is everything.

Is the correct answer. In the grand scheme of things, tomorrow is meaningless. But if Rodri or Haaland did their ACLs, I would not be a happy bunny.I don’t care at all. We could lose 3-0 and I wouldn’t be bothered. JUST NO INJURIES, PLEASE.
I went to that game with a couple of Mackem mates. They were not happy bunnies.Defo down to money and TV revenue etc... Getting back on a Sunday evening from a ground miles away using public transport isn't always the easiest of tasks is it!
The last time I went to a final league game of the season on a Saturday was the one when we beat Sunderland 3:2 at Maine Road in 91 in the old first division.. The result meant we finished above United (quite a big deal at the time) and Sunderland went down.
Since the start of the Premier League I'm pretty sure all final games in the top flight have been on a Sunday ?
Last season 3pm kick offs ( or it might have been 2pm) either way much better for away fans.Defo down to money and TV revenue etc... Getting back on a Sunday evening from a ground miles away using public transport isn't always the easiest of tasks is it!

A few players over the years have injured themselves in domestic accidents. Eddie Gray stubbed his toe getting out of bed. An Ipswich player, I forget which one, mangled himself on his lawnmower.Obviously i' d rather we win or draw and keep the unbeaten record going , but it is hard to disagree in many ways.
Last Sunday when I saw the team on the screen at City square I was a little disappointed as I thought from a fairly selfish perspective, 'I've paid £60 for this and most of the big boys are not in the starting line up' . At the end of the day it wasn't a particularly great game but we won and we got to see the presentation. 1:0 and no injuries far better than 5:0 and KDB or Haaland or Rodri crocked.
Hopefully Pep has a similair mindset tomorrow, give the likes of Phillips, Gomez, Palmer, Rico etc..a run out.
Hopefully our 'big boys' aren't risked too much. Having said that they can get injured in training!. Wasn't there also that fairly amusing case (obviously not for the player concerned) where a goalkeeper missed playing for his country in the World Cup because he got injured dropping a vase on his foot?
Never saw anything like that in The Railway mate however I did see some sights ;-)
Matterface will be gutted he doesn't wake upto that pair every morning.
