fernandinho can't play 3 90 minutes in a week without serious consequences to his and our level I think, if Rodri has COVID he'll miss both these games and that's the situation we're in.

If he plays vs Arsenal that could be really difficult I reckon, so I wonder if we might see Gundogan in the 6 for these games or at least the Arsenal one.

I don't think Rodri's absence is Covid related. mancity.com decribed Rodri and Walker as 'not fully fit' when they announced the starting XI. If anyone was out with Covid, I think they'd say?

I agree with comments that City were very open to LCFC counterattacks, and that had Rodri played, they would have found it more difficult to counter-attack us.

Playing Fern though worked. We won comprehensively.

Pep seriously has to find a solution for no Rodri because it was very worrying the way Leicester just waltzed through us with ease yesterday. Everytime they attacked I thought they'd score. Luckily we were more clinical than them.

I'd describe it as getting away with it tbh, if we don't score a header from a corner then leicester might have drawn that game. The middle was way to open and ferna was being bypassed with ease.

Against Arsenal's midfield which is playing very well and young and full of energy he'll get destroyed. Particuarly if he's played 180 mins of football already that week.

I think you have to look at the fittest players in the squad and build the team around them for the next 2 games. Usually Walker & Rodri would be in that conversation but they're obviously not match ready.

----------------Ederson
Cancelo----Dias------?????------?????
------------------?????
--------Bernardo-----?????
?????------------Sterling-------Foden

Positions aren't spot on but those 6 are usually the ever presents that can handle a brutal schedule. Plus 3 can be subbed off if we get a decent lead.

We essentially have a rest after Arsenal so I would rotate around those 6, with the stronger team being ready for Arsenal.

Doesn't look like Rodri is in training. Sure looks like he may be isolating :/

Brentford will make it a very physical game. Expect "robust" tackles and targeting of City's playmakers, all roared on by a noisy crowd.

Fernandinho is playing like he’s aged 30 years overnight so I’d go for Gundo holding.
Ederson
Cancelo Dias Laporte Ake
Gundo
Bernardo KDB
Sterling Grealish
Foden
Mahrez had a great game yesterday, his reward for that isn’t going to be getting dropped for some idiot who has just pissed Pep off by behaving like a clown

This could be a bit like Southampton, where if we're not focussing they could catch us out with their energy.

I wouldn't mind haven't our attacking workhorses in the team for this game. Although I don't think it matters too much who plays.

Difficult to see what changes could be made given that Foden, Jesus, and Grealish were the only fit regulars who didn't start yesterday. I imagine the former two will get back into the team for this.
