Fantastic result against a stubborn team. Can't beat teams 3-0 when the whole team is back defending. Teams like Arsenal and Liverpool get better chances because teams setup less compact and as the last 10 minutes showed, better opportunities open up for scoring.

Yeah but we.help teams set up like that. They know Pep doesn't want to lose the ball so we're happy playing it around them and they're happy to sit there.

Too many players not playing at their best at present. Pep took a massive risk not playing Kev, but it paid off..just! Alvarez really needs a few games out now, his confidence is low and he looks shagged out. I also really don't know how a team with such individual brilliance miss so many guilt edged chances, but that's how it's been for a while now and it needs to change ASAP. A point in it when we’ve yet to hit our stride is a position I’d have snapped your hand off for if offered at the start of the season.

The one thing irked me more than anything else in this match. Is Walker's inability to cross the ball with his first touch. Totally frustrating!!

Happy with the win and the clean sheet though.

At one point it was 9 fouls by City and zero by Brentford, a team that sat deep and defended with 32% possession. It was nigh on corrupt officiating.

I'm not a conspiracy guy, but I firmly believe the PL do not want the defending champions on trial for FFP violations.

Odd game. Could and should have been comfortable. Some of the finishing was diabolical.
He wasn't on long and against tired legs but I thought Kovacic looked good.

Just grateful of the three points. Probably need to be careful with Foden and Rodri as both have played quite a bit recently.
