Brentford (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Fair play to Sam Matterface, more than decent post match interview with Pep on tS, particularly stressing we need to work much harder than other top teams because how teams set up against us. Those two muppets in the studio disagree! Great night actually with them being unhappy.

I agree. Before we had Gundogan who stepped up to the plate with goals, guile and assists. Lose Kev and we're fucked in the big games, he makes the difference.
This transfer window is shaping up to be a huge one. We need a Wirtz type to develop as a Kev replacement and cover for Rodri

Good win. That was hardwork though.

Really hope Brentford get relegated and go into liquidation.

Can't stand teams that raise their game against us and defend for their lives after rolling over and getting tickled by liverpool.
Some of that is a testament to us. They see us as the 800 pound gorilla they want to beat. Liverpool just doesn't have the same prestige these days.

I have been saying the same the defense setup from Brentford against Liverpool was completely different

We are toast if Kevin isn’t available down the stretch. Hopefully he just needs some rest.
Agreed we look basically so poor without him but worse when he experiments with Alvarez. I love Alvarez attitude but he's not a proper player..second touch is a tackle as my old fella says about him. Its true as well.. good instinct finisher but not a player. Niether is Haaland unless charging down at goal the he literally is the best in the world and would have given the great Greavsie a run for his money in 1 v 1 showdown. Aside from that Haaland's a tough watch too.

Another hard, ground out win. I hope this league doesn't go down to GD, if we are still in the mix. We are not clinical enough to smash 4 or 5 past teams anymore. Another 3 or 4 goals tomorrow no doubt for the scousers as well!!!

Seriously think Pep needs to re think the Alvarez situation. He's a genius, but we all can see it just isn't happening for him and the team at the minute.

He needs to sit a few games out and come on from the bench.

Another brutal set of fixtures coming up as well.

Think he would be playing Nunes in that position if he was any good. Unfortunately he isn't.

I also think we would have been playing Paqueta there if we had got him.

Right set up by Pep but wrong player for it.

The Bobb one was just unlucky/lucky, not much more he could do, until I saw the replay I thought it crossed the line, but fair play to Mee for getting there.
That was just good football all round i totally agree with you. Foden to make it 2 after a brilliant rum. Shame he didnt

At this time of the season, performance doesn’t count but results do. So, who cares? Having said that, I thought you looked a bit pedestrian tonight against a team that might be dragged into a relegation battle. I’ll be interested to see how you perform as we go into the next 3 months. You’re still the favourites but not hugely so. Good luck, Mancs.

Wumming, no matter how sly, is against the rules.

Our ins and outs thiis season have been so poor

Not the greatest of games but the 3 points was so essential tonight.

Thought bernardo, foden and alvarez had off nights.
Walker was crap again, does he ever beat that first man with a cross?

Stones dias and akanji all very solid.
Great goal by haaland

We'd be another point behind Da'pool!! Chelsea game = nil points!!!
If you enjoy watching that fair enough, I should of added no score draw, my mistake. It is what it is. It's pretty boring when only one team comes to win but your right, that's the game!

£51 for Brentford at home is fucking terrible. Just checked and I paid £50 for Real Madrid last season, one of our biggest games. The club are cashing in on our success. City winning doesn’t make the fans richer. Anyway…

If Rodri gets injured we’re in massive trouble . Take the 3 points tonight and never speak about this game again. Onto Saturday.

He’d be having a right feast tonight then. And I gave up on the match day thread 15 minutes into the game!! :-)

On that match thread I saw posts that said Dias, Akanji, Walker, Alvarez and Haaland as not very good and shouldn't be playing at City.

Gave up with the thread.
