Cancelo needs a good kick up the arse for sure. I am somewhat worried about the rest of the season we appear to be a bit disjointed. The gap to the gunners does not concern me but we have room for improvement. It will be a frustrating six weeks methinks.

We missed players who gave a shit today.

My pre match attempt at a joke backfired (they always do) as I spotted Toney and the referee pushing wheel barrows full of cash to their vehicles after the match!
Toney arranged / predicted a 1 - 2 with NO penalty to City, they cleaned up!

WTF was that today.

Laporte and Akanji, never again as a centre back partnership please.

Laporte only started to play well when he had the bandage on.

Foden, tried but wrong decisions all the time. The first one where Haaland gambled and launched himself! Just play it in Phil and let Erling decide how he finishes it!

Bernardo, wasted until moved inside but too late.

Alzarez, absolutely shit the bed with that chance! Broke his run far too early to shape up to pass instead of being direct, Haaland would've buried that opportunity.

Very disappointed with the game management, no attempt to change a fucking shit performance.
Wasn't only the Players who had knocked off early for the WC, looks like Pep was serving Club shop Klopps touchline ban today!

A cracking day ruined by a fucking shit match!

The officials though were fucking unbelievably bad. 10 minutes added, 10 minutes played despite half of that time being taken up with bullshit.

Nope. Just that any claims we’ve gone backwards can’t be reasonably made at this point in a season. We’d be making that claim every single year otherwise since we start below our best and finish so strong most of the time.

Now, you might not have noticed but we’re also playing a condensed season. Most of the top sides in Europe aren’t at their best. We’ve played 6 CL games already in a time we’d usually only have played 4. Liverpool, Real, Barca, Bayern, Juve, as well as others far below their best. Arsenal as it happens don’t have that on their schedule and can afford to change most of their team in the Europa.

When you add that in to missing key defenders, evolving how we play etc, I’d say it was incredible unfair to state we’ve gone backwards at this stage, and also that history probably shows it’ll be proven incorrect as well.

Correct. Too many headless chicken fans (if they are fans) supporting our club. Our players are brilliant, but they're also human. Shit happens. Every top side has these days.

just wanted to respond to the point about time added on; the ball being out of play/goalie taking a long time to take a kick/throw ins taking time does not add on time. only injuries, goals and subs. there is a directive for ‘time wasting’ to be taken into account but it basically isn't for general slowness at restarting play or how many fouls there are - these elements are viewed as part of the game

A lot of understandable negativity but if nothing else this team has proved when we really need to win we do (CL aside). Today we didn’t against a team fighting for every point. I think it’s as simple as that.

We have gone backwards, so far, this season. Haaland has won us more points than our performances deserved. Big improvement required after WC and please dear god, Txiki sign an actual LB.
