Well he's half decent at transfers, and not letting an agent walk out of the door with £6m is helping look after our club, well done Mr Marwood.

Also he will be working under constraints, placed on him by ADUG and as you rightly say,it appears that gone are the days where we end up paying stupid Agent Fees.

Re: Well done Brian Marwood.

Have n't got a clue about Marwoods capabilities. However, there were a lot on here giving it large re : his supposed ineptitude. Most I know adjudge this to have ended up a good window for us. If lack of signings/ failure to remove deadwood was layed at his door, surely the credit for the obverse of that belongs to him.

Well done Brian Marwood.

It's hard to judge him either way really given we do not see or hear mug of what he does, and do not know the true constraints place upon us this window by Khaldoon.

What I do know is that we have left the window with a stronger squad that contains few if any gaps, fine tuned the starting 11 and have shipped out some deadwood to ease up the wage bill. And everybody involved in that process deserves credit.

Re: Well done Brian Marwood.

My reply is not about Marwood, it is a general comment.

Finalizing 5 deals in the last day of the summer transfer window might look good, but it also suggest to poor planning, because of two reasons:

1. Mancini said many times that he want the new players to be available on time and to participate in the preseason preparation. Now they all need time so settle and gel that will impact thier contribution during the first period

2. We have missed some of the main targets, if not all. ofcourse we may not have control on all deals, but i think in some deals we could have done better.

Well hopefully I`ve got someones attention just by merely the thread title.
Yes its true I do believe that Mr.Marwood deserves some praise in helping secure the services of 5 players after receiving some unfair criticism over the past month.
Did we get who we actually wanted ? Did Bobby get his full quota of Players and those Players from his Liist "A" ? No I very much doubt that, seeing and hearing that we lost out on Hazard,De Rossi etc,who allegedley were initially our prime targets.
However reading some of the crap on here, belittling the guy on various fronts, due to losing out on the above two players (and possibly more) its time we settled down and give Marwood a little bit of credit.
Our last two signings appears to help appease those fans who slagged him off,for bringing in Wright,Sinclair and to some extent Maicon, where thge concensus seem to be a bit divided by fellow Blue Mooners at the moment.
We lost Savic and my hero de Jong, with the Club and moreso Marwood again coming under severe criticism for only getting an assumed amount of £3.5M for Nige. That figure came out of the gutter press and last night we heard that the actual fee was anything from £7 -10M instead from James Cooper, another person who came under fire from Blue Mooners for giving us a figure of £16M for the services of Garcia, which looks like it could be correct, with adds ons to come.
I`ve said before this thread, too many people think that Twitter and the Press are the bees-knees of reliable information and when the shit hits the fan and we realise that this isn`t so,Marwood gets it in the neck.
I am NOT discussing his role in the Academy,as I don`t know enough. However,it has been stated before by Khaldoon that His Highness and himself hold BM in esteem for his work carried out in securing transfer targets,or not in some cases, due to circumstances outside of the Clubs remit.
Some Blue Mooners need to realise that Marwood just does NOT go out and buy who he wishes as an individual. This is done with a Committee which also includes Bobby Manc, who will have more than a say on who comes and who stays.
Am I expecting a deluge of fans to agree with me ?? No fucking chance and people will still be of the opinion that Marwood is shite in their eyes.
Come January we start all over again, but with our new CEO now in place, will we see anything different in the way we conduct our transfers and more importantly will Marwood still be dealing directly in this role ?
Who knows, but I for one am relieved that we have bought some class players in this window, not to everones taste I know, but its better than it looked at 8.00am yesterday morning.
Now,let battle commence.Good job my shoulders are as broad as my Guinness waistline and I`ll see anyone for any further debates in the Waldorf this afternoon from 1.15pm onwards or Summerbees from 4.00pm.
Come out Brian & stop pretending to be a Bluemooner! :-)

Marwood is incompetent, and it has nothing to do with transfers.

He will be replaced

Personal vendetta based on gossip and hearsay. You're not half way close enough to judge how he performs.

Let's the professionals decide who's replaced and who stays!

Fans have got to understand that since last summer out strategy has changed. Marwood doesn't have the luxury of Cook - offering financial packages to the club, player and agent that blows the opposition out of the game.

This!

Marwood is a bafoon!
If he had resigned Silva then that would have been worth praise but effectively all that has happened is we have spent more money on Garcia than we would have done giving De Jong the salary he wanted, we have signed an overage RB which we didn't need, a replacement for Savic - fine, an inferior replacement for Johnson - seriously, we aimed for Hazard and got Sinclair. It's laughable!
And I promising CM in Rodwell.

Poor, very poor indeed.
Wasn't we aiming to be one of the world biggest clubs?

Well done Brian Marwood.

1. Hazard: we have waited long. Chelsea was not on the picture till winning the champion league, we could have closed it earlier. and even if the agent was greedy, we could have handled it better.

2. T Silva, i can not believe that a player like silva would prefer the French league over the PL.
