Brian Marwood (merged)

Re: Only 1 person to blame for today...

after much thought, the OP is right. if marwood wasnt such a stubborn prick of a man, we'd have had van persie, de rossi and hazard in our squad and would be ripping the arse out of the prem. but no, he wastes money on sinclair and javi garcia. when it should have been hazard and de rossi instead. cant help but feel he really is a lot to blame

Inb4 the excuses

Guess who hit the fucking winner? Mancini's #1 transfer target, that's who.

Didn't want to join us no matter what. How's that Marwoods fault?

Where's this urban myth come from ? He went back to City for more money following nitids approach and office clerk Marwood said no

I'm sorry but that decision had to be taken well above Marwood's head.

Marwood is or was certainly part of the problem.

We suffered from a lack of execution during the last window.

It's telling that we haven't made a sucessfull high profile signing since Gary Cook left.

Not having a CEO in place meant Marwood had to fill in with mixed results. Mancini was destabilized enough to set up a new job with Monaco. Hard to say whether he would still be here if we hadn't beaten QPR. When he got the new contract he then felt he had to shout the loudest to get the signings he wanted. This in turn may have effected everyone's confidence when they didn't show up.

On the plus side we've now got an experienced CEO in place, our best players on long term contracts, a new central defender who is going to be one of the best in the world, and a manager who is a premier league winner.

We now need Soriano to back Mancini and trust his judgement.

You've got it nearly right - we now need Mancini to back Soriano and Txiki and trust their judgment concerning player acquisition.

Re: Only 1 person to blame for today...

Nasri needs to go and we need to sell balo and sure up the striking dept

Re: Only 1 person to blame for today...

Just didn't make our possession count enough.

Not as quick and clinical in the oppositions half this season.

Everyone is at fault.

We still have time to rectify it.

The relationship between the three of them is going to shape the club for the next 4-5 years. Time for everyone to have their cards on the table.

Khaldoon should lock the three of them in a room with a bottle of brandy and a revolver and tell them not to come out until they've got at plan to win the Champion's League.

However, this may have already happened.

We'll see come January.
