And with this talk about Bale and its looking ever more likely were getting Kolarov, i really think this could happen.
Only stumbling block would be wages i reckon

Thoughts?

If we're looking to fight on 4 fronts, why weaken ourselves and improve Liverpool, how much are we going to get for him ? 5m. Better off keeping him, putting an arm round his shoulder and trying to bring out the player he was in 2007/08, its better we do it than someone else who's picked him up on the cheap.

They can wave goodbye to any slight hopes they had of getting top 4 if they do. Hodgson did say that he needed british players.

Do they have another LB? With Insua and Aurelio both gone who else have they got?

I guess they would have to match his 100k wages, doubt it.

But if Kolarov signs then it would be a good move for him, i'd be happy with Garrido and Cunningham.

How good is Cunningham? Because supposing we do sign Kolarov, he can't play the projected 60-70 games this season and as loyal as he is, Garrido is largely a liability. So if we sold Bridge, we'd have to play Garrido, Cunningham, or a non-specialist left back like Lescott when Kolarov (if we sign him) isn't available or needs resting.

Wouldn't upset me -Wayne has been very disappointing other than at Chelsea last season IMHO

-- Sat Jul 17, 2010 8:52 pm --

Thoughts are:

No way Twitcher will sell Bale to us, without really taking the piss.
The Grief may be able to stump up a suitable fee for Bridge, but they won't pay his current wages.

Look at last season from Bridges point of view -

The manager that signed him gets the axe -

The Terry (T**t) story.

The whole stress of the impending world cup, that he should have gone to, whether is was to sit on the bench for all 4 (as it was) matches, makes no difference, this was his last (expected) chance to be part of the greatest competition on the globe.

Now with all that going on inside your head....would your form be affected ?

Final point, was he not just coming back from injury when we signed him? It took Tev 3 months to find his feet again after his move, without any of the above to further distract his focus.

I hope Bridge stays, even as back up should we land top draw LB.

Doubt this will happen, bridge is a quality left back. 2nd choice leftback for england isnt a bad thing to have on your cv.

I hope we keep him, fits in with Mancinis "squad rotation". Rotate brige and kolarov depending on who we're playing.
