Bridge

I think this is quite harsh. Burnley exposed him yesterday, which to me is great play on Owen Coyle's behalf, but since the start of the season everyone has been praising Bridge. Give the credit to Owen Coyle and less of the shit to Wayne Bridge.

Bridge is one of those cases where a lot of people haven't taken to him from the start, lots of people slagging him off last season. When he has a poor game now people like to take it as proof that they were right all along and give him shit.

I think the main flaw with his game is the aimless balls forwards, he played a lot of hopefull balls towards Adebayor yesterday, which didn't work. Apart from that, so far he's been excellent for the majority of matches, although yes yesterday he was poor.

A bit strange how people like to give pelters to full-backs when they don't attack, but when they do attack and get caught out they're too attacking and should stay back.

Never been a fan of him, and with peformances like that yesterday.. never will.
So many better LB's out there atm.

Who do we bring in though??? There aint many world-class LBs out there...
We,ve got a champions league winning one sat on the bench!!!!!!!!!!!

I cant understand Bridge's play. He is first and foremost a leftback yet yesterday he was acting like a left sided midfielder at times. I hope MH is not encouraging this kind of reckless adventure. For the third goal 2 Burnley attackers were sharing a cigar in our left back position with not a City defender in site, whats all that about. Surely Barry can give some support to our left sided attacker while Ireland should give SWP support on the right, leaving our back four in shape to worry about counter attacks. Zaba has no pace so when he goes forward there is no way he will ever get back, if we play Zaba he must be told half way line no further and he can always foul or obstruct the attacker if he is beating him for pace, at leasts he will be in the vicinity instead of at the other end of the pitch, ditto for Bridge.

if he wasn't getting forward he'd be slated all the same

Thats not his job, Bridge's job is to defend the left back defensive position, thus the shit he gets when something goes wrong in that area, he cant be in two places at once.

I'm getting sick of posting on here and reading responses that seem illogical. Bridge is one of the best attacking left sided full backs in the world, but unfortunately as I have stated numerous times on here, is one of the most naive, one footed, and innept full backs around. All City fans, me included want us to be predominantly attacking in our style of play, but don't be fooled by this guy, he can't kick with his right foot, and more significantly he CANNOT tackle with it. He is a defensive liabilty and his attacking runs do not make up for his major defensive weakness.
I would ask all the Bridge lovers, to think back to all the games this season, to the times they remember him in Dunne or Zabletta style, putting a great tackle in on the flank? He is not a defender he is a poor left winger playing as a full back, and in the premiership where we want to be, he will always be a liabilty.
What frustrates me most of all is that Lescott is one of only a few exceptional left backs in the premiership and made his name playing in the left back position, so why the hell he is being maintained as centre half confuses me. the questions about who we could replace Bridge with baffle me, we have Sylvinho who 6 months ago was winning the Chamiopns league against United, and as I have just said, Lescott.
Come on guys use your heads, it aint rocket science, we also have Kompany, someone we all know is an almost undroppable player sat on the bench whilst this winger in defenders clothing leaves us open at the back week after week, get Lescott back to his natural possition and shore up the central defence with Onuaha, or Kompany.

Simple, he was bought to play centre half not left back. Another thing Dunne is 100 times better than Lescott. Fancy selling your best defender to one of your biggest rivals, what was MH thinking.
