Bridge

Bridge was in the England team on the basis of being an ok player, and one of only about 3 left footed english players of his generation
 
Will need a miracle to get rid of Bridge, he will be with us until end of contract.
On form of last 2 years no one would have him, then the salary, he will be staying doing nowt.
 
I think the club deserves to pay him until the end of his contract. Offering him 80-90.000 per week, karma comes back, and now we can pay him and he is not stupid to move somwhere else for less money. He doesnt even has to train maybe to get his money.
 
He is one of my favorite players now just because he brings out the most ridiculous opinions from Blues. He's unambitious? Oh dear.
 
I like Bridge, seems like a nice enough guy and as far as my memory goes, has never spoken out against the club. He's definitely not a world beater and is a shadow of his former self, but I think he is still a decent lb, not a world beater by any means but still pl quality.

That being said, I don't understand how he could turn down a loan deal to Celtic. He's obviously not in our plans at all and probably won't get a game this year. It will probably be nice to sit around and collect those wages, but I don't think my pride would let me. He's on the wrong side of 30 now and with only a few years left in his career, you'd think he'd want to play somewhere, I know that I would.
 
City should just offer him a package to leave, make him a free agent and then he'd have as long as he wants to get the best deal and get back playing. Its not his fault he was offered three times what he's worth
 
Not too bothered if he wants to stay and get paid. Why not give him a coaching role with the EDS? PS: What's the rule regarding CHampionship loans(window open longer I mean)?
 
Shitty situation for all concerned, but you can't blame him for staying and getting paid. Maybe he can at least help cut the grass or something. He's no more a footballer or city player than I am.

Oh dear to you more like. You're talking about a guy who was happy to sit on his arse through the peak years of his career at Chelsea knowing full well he was second choice and wouldn't get a sniff in most games - 87 appearances in 6 years for fucks sake

He's a prick. Was only here for the paycheck in the first place. Never had any ambition or intentions to succeed whilst here or ever gave a fuck about City. People here are crediting him for not whingeing but he didn't whinge because he didn't give enough of a fuck to bother whingeing.

Terrible, short term, stop-gap, comfort zone signing from hughes.

Terrible signing but he's done very well for himself for such an average footballer. In the 6 years you mention he's earnt over £28million!! He's also got some winners medals from his time at Chelsea. For an average footballer I think anyone would take that. I know I would if I was in his position.

I don't hate Bridge for what he's doing, many would do the same. I dislike the management that signed him up to such a ridiculous deal.
 
I don't usually post but players like Bridge and Taylor really do fucking annoy me. I would give my left testicle to play football every week professionally, whether it be Stockport or Barcelona, it's about the love of the game. Surely that's what should drive a player. I couldnt imagine looking back on my career and knowing the last years I had to play the game I love I spent sitting on my arse, just so I could increase my already fat as fuck bank account.
He may be a nice bloke but I don't really care, he obviously doesn't care about the game I love and he's a professional.
 
It's going to be near enough impossible to get rid of him now. He's crap not interested in playing football and on daft money. We really are into offering 75% of his wages due over the the rest of his contract to funk off.
