Brighton (A) - Post Match Thread.

He needs to improve his substitutions though. Not that they were wrong yesterday just 10 mins late.
One of the CDs (Stones?) needs to step up into DM as well when it is clear that the opposition are not even trying to break out.
Still early days.

And that is one of the things he was getting wrong last season, you could practically set your watch by the time of his substitutions last season (apart from any for injuries of course) & if we as fans noticed it then you can bet your bottom dollar opposition managers and players did. You judge the game and choose times for subs not leave it until your wrist watch alarm goes off!!
I am in agreement with those who say that Guardiola doesn't quite 'get' the PL. This season he has got to acknowledge that, like Dorothy said, he "isn't in Kansas anymore"!!! He's in England and it is different.

Maybe he should have a talk with someone like Brian Kidd instead of that group who sit on the front row with him. Kiddo knows more about the PL than that lot put together I bet. :-)

Just seen VK's interview where he compares 2012 team with current one.

He seems to be saying that City achieved success in 2012 due to big personalities stepping up to the plate. I imagine he means Hart, Zabba, himself, NdJ, Balo, Edin, Yaya.

Now he sees the team as a more flexible team that can play any system required.

He finishes by sort of saying let's see which works better.

I hope the current team does have some leadership, and it's not all Pep on the touchline.

Your off your nut, your going round the houses like a chuckling kid, you think I'm a rag, so what.
Just say what you mean, for eg 8 years and nearly 6k in posts just to wait for an oddball like you to "out me", congrats dumbobob

I have no idea what any of this means.

I didn't call you a rag I said your username looks like Ibrags.

Thanks also for calling me an oddball. Means a lot.

A solid start & a decent display. I thought it would take Pep another season of bedding in before we'd start to see the fruits of his endeavours, but that could be coming sooner than I thought. BHA came determined on damage limitation & our profligacy in front of goal helped them in that respect. Yesterday reminded me of Mancini's final season where we were having to find a plan b, because teams had come set up to defend for their lives and it's a while since we've been able to say that.

I'm cool with 3 at the back, but yesterday highlighted the need for Mendy and a back up for Mendy. It was obvious that Danilo was struggling offensively as BHA sussed our supposed 2 footed wing-back was anything but & it was a relief when Sane replaced him as we looked more threatening down both sides whilst remaining defensively resolute. Walker was deffo MoTM and it's frightening to think what we could be like if his style & effort are reflected on the left. I think Jesus also deserves a special mention for the excellent effort he put in too.

If we were to get a good LB, another decent CB & Sanchez, this window would be as close to perfect as we could have hoped for. In case anyone hasn't heard, ManUre have already won the quadruple for the coming season, well according to all the dirty unwashed knuckle-draggers from Old Toilet they have. Ah well... :-)

This is not City related, but I have a feeling that Huddersfield are going to have a good season. There was something about them from when we played them away last term & I feel David Wagner is a manager to be watched in the future, not for us probably, but as a rising star the game.

They pretty much sang it at every home game last season, God knows why.

Why did we have Colin Bell and Zabaleta chants as well? Maybe, just maybe, some fans want to create an atmosphere, rather than constantly moaning because it was 0-0. I'd be much more inclined to ask why half our fans couldn't be arsed singing until we scored. That's the question that should be asked and not why were we singing the Dzeko song which just happens to be a quality chant by the way.
