then the foul on gundogan was a red without VAR ? over the top and above the knee stoods up and late what more does it take to send a player off. then clearly a pen at the end on jesus ? if ake is a pen the other day then this is stone wall ? also the black eye rodri was sporting was from a newcastle player elbow in the box VAR shows it and clear pen NOPE carry on

for me the premier league officials are showing uefa officials how to play us in the champions league final
and we all know who got the match in refereeing the game Mateu Lahoz who hates pep

tbh I have no idea why they were booing him - I found it embarassing and totally unnecessary - I will split hairs about kicking your lot off the pitch - most Brighton fans have said that we needed a "mean streak" in the middle of the pitch, and I think a combination of that and your boys maybe not wanting to fully commit to 50/50s may have skewed this a bit

As I have said I think Brighton deserved to win because we should have shut up shop at 2-0 but I was surprised by the toxic atmosphere from some fans and between the benches. I agree that Potter's teams have been a bit soft in the past but there were some terrible challenges last night, especially on Gundogan. Perhaps we are over-sensitive with a CL Final coming up but the referee was beyond bad and so was VAR.
I think the media have whipped up a lot of hate about City and it gets played out by rival fans. Sterling was persecuted by the press (some of it just racism) and he was booed by fans wherever he played, especially Liverpool. There is just too much hate in football at present.

I think most of your questions are unanswerable certainly by those responsible. A clear explanation of how the VAR process works? Well it depends on who's playing .... what decision d we want ... do we really want to review that decision ... They'd have real fun trying to convince us that "a system" actually exists. The whole thing is reminiscent of "the rule of law" in a dictatorship! As does the tame media. A classic case is the tackle on Gundo. A yellow card just in case ... Moss backs the ref up ... and the media, in the person of Walton agrees. And what on earth was Walton rambling about? His leg was bent so it wouldn't cause injury! A boot foll of studs on the knee? A player moving at pace towards Gundo?! "A yellow card. I'm happy with that."

Apart from all the wrong decisions given by the ref and VAR, what exactly is the purpose of Peter fucking Walton giving an opinion when he was one of the most inept officials ever when actually refereeing himself ?

The whole ref/VAR shit show needs to be exposed for the corrupt sham that it is.

Now City have got good at putting things like that out of their minds the last couple of seasons, but last nights 'performance' by the referee was hard to ignore; he was relentless. From the moment Gundo put us 1-0 up he started, and he never let off. We were cheated last night. Absolutely no doubt in my mind. That was corruption.

The early doors non-foul foul on their keeper when his own player caused him to drop the ball was also glossed over by the BT pundits, yet it had a noticeable effect on our players. That's the thing that people often don't realise about corrupt/incompetent referring is how it alters the mindset of the players and ultimately their performance.

Match thread was full of people slagging of various players last night. Garcia bore the brunt of most of it, but take into account the Cancelo sending off for literally f*ck all, and you can bet that was in his mind every time he challenged for the ball. Same with Rodders and Dias. Gundo went off early in the second half because he knew that if he stayed on he was just going to get kicked again knowing the ref would do f*ck all. It was reminiscent of the Arsenal v Rag's game in 2004 where the Rag's took it in turns to kick f*ck out of Reyes.

Something truly stinks about last night.

Agreed fella, not easy walking that kind of tight rope for 80 minutes, Joao & Ferran have probably missed the boat for CL selection because of the decision & it no doubt affected the way we tackled for the rest of the game, CL selection is what ‘ALL’ the players are thinking of right now, lucky for us we have one more game to right some wrongs & rid ourselves of the dirty stain left by the corruption we witnessed last night

Firstly congrats on another superb season and a well deserved title - been by far the best team this season and I genuinely hope you beat Chelsea next week.

Thoughts on the game - I agree that the red was soft - I can see why Attwell gave it, but VAR should have downgraded it; however we have been on the wrong end of some shocking VAR decisions this season, so forgive me if I take that one and move quietly on..... I also agree that Jahanbaksh should have seen red - that happened right in front of me, and whilst there was no malice in the challenge it had to be a red. Again, see my previous comment re being on the wrong end of shocking VAR decisions.

Whilst little old Brighton may not be on your radar, this result had been coming - the 1-0 at the Etihad this season, on another day, could have been at least a draw as we were well worthy of a point that day. I thought that we were outstanding last night, and definitely were the hungrier team -

It works both ways - mystified how Bernando Silva's challenge on Bissouma didn't warrant a card either so would agree that the referee / VAR didn't have the best game - but from our perspective when you think what we have had to put up with this season with VAR (namely the penalty given for Utd after the final whistle and the free kick debacle at West Brom) I will take getting the rub of the green for once.

I agree with hate in football - seen a lot of nasty comments about Brighton on here - I can only call it as I saw it last night in that your boys got a standing ovation on to the pitch last night and applauded on in the warm up too. Totally baffled at the pantomime booing of Foden and others - totally uncalled for.

I have no issue with City at all. Played the best football, been the best team and deserve to be champions. the media love a good underdog story, however, and given that whenever we have beeaten a "bigger" team this season it has always been about how bad the other team have been as opposed to how good we have been, I think it's long overdue that Brighton got some credit.

Bissouma...for us he is virtually irreplaceable. He has come on in leaps and bounds over the past 2 seasons - sure, his shooting is a huge weakness and he should be scoring more goals rather than threatening the back row of the stand - but imo he would walk into any midfield in the league and Europe - I do believe he is THAT good. defintiely has room for improvement, but if we hang onto him for another season I will be amazed.

Just digest this for a second, Garcia will be walking away with three Premier League title medals, four League Cups and one FA Cup.

If he also collects a Champions League medal, it will be the biggest miscarriage of footballing justice since Maradona hand of God.

Garcia has 1 league winners medal. He didn't even make his debut until 18/19 and didn't play enough games to earn a medal.
