Brighton (A) | Post-Match Thread

I just don't have the vocabulary to adequately relay my feelings about this specimen with the whistle. I can't call him a referee because he exhibited not one ounce of the comprehension nor skill of the two refs we had in the CL semi legs. Mike Riley should be wholly embarrassed at sending such an ill-equipped person to do a job he is manifestly incapable of handling.
How civil

I think you get impressed by pass completion stat percentages from a conservative passer of the ball in the most dominant possession side in Europe, and don't understand what you're watching. There we have it.

There isn't a single attribute Rodri has over Fernandinho besides height and strength, and even then he regularly gets done shoulder to shoulder, and put on his arse, in a way you don't see happen to Fernandinho, even at the ripe old age of 36.

Rodri is a glaring weakness in this side. In a key area of the pitch.

Fern is 5x the player Rodri is.

Literally, night and day.

Ref was a twat and the commentary was appalling. But we didn’t play well - the defence lacked composure not helped by Garcia who was gash. We must have had someone better than Garcia to bring on
Foden was good but Mahrez did very little. When we scored the second goal I thought we’d go on to win but as soon as they scored we seemed to lack belief. Dead rubber so who gives a fuck - just hope Gundog is ok
Well Mahrez must cover that right side - he didnt and we suffered quite a lot.

Jon Moss as VAR at a club owned by Tony Bloom. Nobody should be in the least bit surprised at any of that especially the last penalty incident with Lalana. I’d wager there was a slightly better angle that he didn’t look at........

There have been rumours in the Football is Fixed blog for a while that claims Mr Bloom is big in match fixing. Of course, I am not saying that is the case.

I know it probably wasnt even a foul but smart players read the situation; your away at tin pot brighton, the ref’s a total gullible clean shirt just looking to jump on the bandwagon and theres a bunch of overexcited southern wankers giving it the full force of bias.

Dont even touch the opposition player and give the ref a chance to send you off - and its welbeck on his left foot with the ball bouncing high. The XG in that situation is almost negative
The way it went tonight, Welbeck would have probably fallen over and got the pen even if there had been nobody anywhere near him. The annoying thing is we never get those.

Boiled my piss watching that tonight, would quite happily stamp on that **** of a refs head. The challenge on gundo was a disgrace and end to end he utterly shafted us.
Only positive is it was a real good workout and maybe what a few of them needed. Foden looked fucked at the end and his goal was pure class. Other than that a fucking shit night and easily forgotten.
