Tonight, he looked bent.
I think that was some of the worst refereeing since the halcyion days of Roger Kirkpatrick circa 1969/70.
Honestly, if there is ever an independent viewing of that game, by a proper "ref", I'd be interested to see how many VERY bad decisions were made. Several were not even close.
No point in judging the game, result, or performances after that - 10 men for so long means that the likes of Rodri were under more than normal pressure, so, some of you on here should cut him some slack - even if he was at fault - more shit happens when you have everything conspiring against you.
29th is rapidly approaching and that was a hell of a run out for a lot of our big boys.

Brighton gave us a kicking tonight and we were lucky to get off the pitch without more injuries. Hope Gundogans ok and he’ll be able to play for us in the Champions League final and for Germany in the upcoming Euros.
We can’t risk the same or even worse by putting our best players out against Everton because we need them to be fit to play in Porto and even if we play a beautiful game Everton might not.
We’ve already won the league so Pep should treat the game as a testimonial to Sergio Aguero and not give a fuck about the score cos he needs his top players to be fit to go to battle in a bigger game.

Could well be a blessing in disguise. Bent ref, every decision and drop of the ball against us, additional emotions when fans are there. Rather than now than next Saturday. Time to reset and refocus. We have to take those factors out of the game as much as humanly possible and tonight was a timely lesson.

Our starting 11 for the final is set after Cancelo and Rodri tonight. Which again, for me could be a blessing.

Special mention also to Peter Walton, who somehow makes VAR even worse every time and gives real insight into just how poorly referees judge games and rules.
In terms of team selection for the CL I agree. Having said that I reckon Pep wasn’t going to play either Cancelo or Rodri in his starting 11.

How do you learn from bad VAR decisions and bent refs. You don’t.

What that match (and others) has shown is how influential a referee can be in the outcome of a match.

That’s the concern I have for the CL final. Especially so given the appointment of the match referee.

Exactly. Look at the Liverpool-Spurs final. Penalty given in the second minute of the game and the tie's over.

We can expect the same comedy officiating in the CL final.
It will be there for everyone to see, but ignored as usual.
