Brighton and Hove Albion PL (H) | Post Match Thread

Lucky to get away with a point if we’re being honest. I don’t even really get angry any more, it’s just a reflection of where we are as a team at the moment. We’re miles off it, and top 5 feels like anything but a formality. Hopefully we’ll do enough over the rest of the season to drag ourselves over the line, but it’s been a pretty disastrous campaign all in all. Can’t begrudge them one bad season after everything they’ve achieved over the last few years, but the concern is how we turn things around. Squad feels like it needs a fairly major overhaul in the summer.
It has to and it will but I suspect things will get worse before they get better , this squad would struggle to get 50 points next season , they lack spark , fight, creativity a winning mentality , basic skills even and an ability to entertain and are not well coached and man managed on match days now.

It's nowhere near a formality. Anyone who thinks it is, is deluding themselves.

So Echiverri good enough for Triple world champions Argentina but not good enough for our bench , Confused not will be , I am !!
To be fair, he wasn’t even good enough to play for River Plate for a good number of games in his last six months with them.

I will be slated for what I’m about to say…

This is on Pep. His refusal to adapt. His refusal to go back to basics and continuing to over think everything is becoming a bigger problem week after week. I can see us not getting top five.

In short…

Previously we could push high and dominate the ball. When the opposition got the ball they wasn’t good enough technically to punish us and would give us it straight back.

We have seen teams like Bournemouth and Brighton emerge who when they do get on the ball they are good technically and they take an extra touch. They don’t panic and they get out exposing all the space we give. Forrest did it to us last week.

Pep isn’t adapting.

dont forget Brighton are as good as anyone on the day, there certainly no mugs so happy with the draw, think we'l be OK for 5th which will secure CL football but we'l be looking over our shoulder in the run in

Will be a crazy summer considering the squad at most will get just 3 weeks off

Ortega - Shocking distribution
Lewis - OK
Khusanov - Shaky
Dias - Half fit
Gvardiol - Can’t defend
Nico - Anonymous
Gundogan - One of his better games
Doku - Sensational but no end product
Marmoush - Always dangerous, why was he substituted
Savinho - Started well but faded badly
Haaland - Did next to nothing
Bernado - Got injured
Foden - Why is he in the England squad
De Bruyne - Should have been on earlier
Think you mixed up Lewis and Khushanov.

Ground full of tutting and moaning wankers today.

This City team had just three starters from what would be considered our strongest team just 20 months ago.

We are not a top side anymore, we are nowhere fucking near one. We are a team full of young inexperienced lads, new signings who are inexperienced in our league with the odd player from our successful recent past.

We are not a top side anymore. Expectations need to drop fucking massively!

The crowd acted like it was our top side of the last 8 years playing shite. Didn’t get behind them, moaned at everything that wasn’t perfect, got on the backs of those making mistakes… the stands were a fucking disgrace today, hang your fucking heads in shame!

Just as we attacked to score our second, someone made a mistake and everyone around me fucking moaned like fuck. I shouted ‘STOP FUCKING MOANING!’ and then BANG Marmoush put us ahead… then as it quietened down I had a go at everyone around me for being moaning cunts.

Critiquing the game after it’s finished is one thing - we weren’t great today and there are a lot of things missing from the team/squad… but being like that while play is going on in the ground is for cunts.

Fucking reign it in you moaning fuckers!

Now is the time to have your moan, here is the place to do it, don’t fucking get on the backs of the young lads, inexperienced players and new signings IN THE GROUND! That’s the fucking last thing they need.

And just because they aren’t providing us with great football and 4-0 wins, don’t just sit in silence waiting for it to happen… be proactive in the stands and get behind the team. And stop fucking moaning at them in the ground!
Not disagreeing but, if you’re not Brazil, don’t try to play like Brazil.
If we need a few weeks of longer passes and going after second balls, as well as playing quickly on the break, I think everyone would get behind them.
If Pep keeps setting them up like the prime team you described it’ll likely be more of the same, unfortunately.

Guardiol just keeps getting sucked into the middle and the ball out wide is always on. Every time our wingers got it they had double coverage. This season it always looks like we are playing with nine men.
Out of position for so many opposition breaks leading to shots and goals. Not learning.

It is obvious when you look at the match-day posts, those who only know success from the last 15 years, and those who have been supporting City for much longer. True fans support the club and team, glory seekers can fuck off
In one. And when success isn’t guaranteed anymore and we are going through what we are right now, the slapped arses turn on the team.

I take solace knowing they are not proper City fans.

Ahead twice; couldn't hold on either time for longer than 10 minutes. I'm too lazy to check, but I hate to think how many points we've thrown away from winning positions in the league this season. At a guess? 10-15? Even if we'd managed to get half of those lost points, the scrap for a CL spot would be so much easier.

And yes; I'm sure the other contenders have also thrown away leads. Not sure it'd be as many as us, mind. We SEEM to have lost a lot of leads so far.
Hard to say thrown away really when every time the opposition has the ball. ..anywhere on the pitch...we look like conceeding. We have a pretty woeful shape. Will Rodri want to stay?

facts are facts Argentina have picked him . They don't pick rubbish , thats why they have 3 stars on the shirt .

I disagree.

We look like a very well coached team who have young and inexperienced players and new signings.

I mentioned about Paris at Anfield the other night. Their execution was appalling but they looked extremely well coached.

We looked like that today but at a lower standard.
