Brighton (H) Post Match Thread

If I were to pay attention to "likes" I'd give my head a wobble to be fair but point taken.

All it takes is a dodgy decision at 1-0 and we have to "start" playing again is my point. Cardiff at 3-0 HT, by all means that's understandable, but it's also a bit risky at 1-0.

Nothing more, nothing less. Just my opinion.

I only say this so that you see I'm able to engage in genuine conversation instead of petty comments.
To be fair we started our ‘game management’ at 2-0 rather than 1-0.

Seemed like many players tuned off after the second goal and just wanted to retain the ball.

This would indicate the vast majority of them will be playing on Tuesday.

Brighton haven't conceded more than two goals in a league game so far and clearly have enough graft and spine to stay in the premier league and I am confident they will.

In saying that it was a solid performance no cricket score as some predicted but Brighton get 10 behind the ball as well as any side in the premier league.

I felt it was a bit Lyon-esque for too long but, again, point taken.

I'd have preferred Silva off earlier with midweek and Liverpool ahead rather than play for possession just for example if we can play the game out. It's taken a risk when we're specifically trying not to take risks, but job done today with everyone unhurt.

control of the games are very much better this season and never looked like giving them anything with silly stuff at the back, its now so man managed from pep the team knows its roles and players are just cog's in a well oil machine and city don't need to over work when bigger games are coming up

6/10 today and points on the board that's all we needed and brighton never looked like giving us a game and just settled for a low score defeat and city settled for that as well, sterling and sane was the the danger men but laporte was outstanding at the back a rock

I thought that was the closest we have looked like last seasons team. The press was fantastic and the rate at which we win the ball back was excellent. Total control.

Would it have been given with VAR?
Who can say? His arm didn’t look to be in an unnatural position and it didn’t look intentional so really shouldn’t be handball but it’s sometimes down to what the ref / var ‘want’ to see.

For me Brighton were content conceding 2. We were happy to win by 2.
Chumps League next week - no more injuries all good by me.
