What was amusing tonight was that Ian Darke didn’t mention the cost of a City player once in 93 minutes. The campaign clearly worked.

Let's be honest not one single one of us expected him to score that.

Fair play to Brighton they matched us all over the pitch, that was the longest 93 minutes and toughest game this Season.
Brighton are big units but they matched us for movement and passing. We had chances but again belting it at the keeper is poor if repeated.

the less said about the penalty, the better..... was a romantic idea to instil some confidence but arrogant from us, could of bitten us on the proverbial!

Brighton were decent but that was a very lethargic performance.

Good grief, what an absolutely appalling 2nd half performance. The last 20 minutes were error strewn. Usual suspects missing the chances that should have killed the game off early 2nd half.
Sterling has the mental strength of an oyster. Don't let him anywhere near another penalty, ever.
Saved by the defence, rock solid thankfully because the players directly in front of them did not manage to keep the ball for longer than about one second in the last 20 minutes.
Well done Dias and Stones.
Cancelo awful at the back, good going forward.
Gab came on and gave the ball away constantly.
Horrible match but we move on. A better team than Brighton would have punished us in the last 20 minutes from their level of possession, which is not especially encouraging.
Still work to do but we battled.

No idea why Sterling was taking that Penalty. He can not slot a Ball in to an empty Net from 3 yards out if he has to think about it first. And that is a fact. Was shocked to see him given the Ball.

You're right about Sterling thinking about it means he probably wont score. I didn't expect Sterling to score and neither did anybody else as far as I can see. That must be the last penalty he ever takes. It would be simply stupid to give him any more penalties. Enough is enough.

I hope this thread doesn’t turn into the raheem out/penalty thread. Some clown on the penalty thread just wrote bye bye Sterling. Why are so many on here desperate for him to fail? It was a ridiculous decision to let him take the pen whoever decided that. Anyway a win is a win and we were relatively comfortable and only possibly one point off the top, in a cup final and great draws in the other cups. We’d have never thought that possible a few months ago

To be fair Raz seems to have a mental block.. no idea why but his talent is being undermined by his confidence / decision making so I get the negativity

Not a great performance from anyone aside from Bernie, who I thought was brilliant throughout.

Pep almost cost us that game. Don't know what he was seeing, but the midfield was crying out for Fern to come on.

Jesus, Zinchenko and Cancelo all vying for who can give the call away in a dangerous area the most.

Mahrez and Rodri, no comment.

Sterling, trying to get his numbers up, never should be allowed near the spot these days.

Dias and Stones holding it together again.

what if ferny comes in and we give up a goal ? pep’s fault too?
