It is bizarre, just when you think we have turned a corner and are picking up momentum you get a game like that to bring you crashing back down to earth.
Three points is three points but fuck our finishing is abysmal and as for our penalty taking it is beyond abysmal. I wouldn't mind but the rules have tightened up now making it even harder for keepers to save them. Pep seriously needs to pay for a fucking hypnotist or something because it is a massive problem now.

Kev has to say no to Sterling taking penalty. It was woeful. I'd bench him for full next game. We seem to have lost the speed and urgency in this game. Great Foden goal. Just glad of the points. We move on.

Pep almost fucked that up with his little experiment with Gabby on the left for the last quarter of the game was ridiculous. He invited Brighton back in the game. Tried to be too clever only just got away with it.. Pep needs to cut that shit out.

Thankfully I was sneaking a watch of the match on my mobile at work...which meant I couldn’t go near the match thread, not sure my ticker would have handled that!
Fair fucks to Brighton, they pinned us back on a good few occasions there making it very uncomfortable.
Can’t believe how many good chances we spurned in that second half.
One positive? Any of the red arse cheeks watching that tonight would have been gutted that we held on.
Great to get a reminder that there are no easy games in the PL ahead of our run of, er, ‘easy’ games.

Most of the players played well. The defence was generally solid. Great finish from Foden. B Silva was very good today.
Woeful pen. Before he even took it I was shouting "why is Sterling taking the pen" at the TV. He is shit at pens.

Inexcusable that sterling was allowed to take that conversion.
totally unprofessional. The game is not over at 1-0 and there should be no being soft trying to give him a goal.

sterling’s best penalty was the Chelsea carabao one that in truth he nearly missed and it was not what he intended to do to put it where he did.
there should be a thorough investigation as to how this was allowed to happen.
you can miss chances, play poorly etc... but a lack of basic professionalism is inexcusable.
