Why is Sterling taking a penalty at 1-0.

I can understand at 2-0/3-0 when he's in need of a goal, but Brighton were the better team second half and our best penalty taker should be taking that to put the game to bed.

Good first half, bad second half. But our defence keeps getting us 3 points at the moment.

Lack of on field leadership is the answer imo. Someone with a cool head should have given the ball to KDB and instructed him to take it.

Missed chances to put game out of sight which kept it on tenterhooks,why was sterling only on the pitch a min or two taking a pen when gundogan or de bruyne are still on the pitch,thankfully it didn’t cost us but if we continue to miss chances it will bite us on the arse regardless of how rock solid we have been at the back ..

Anyone ever expect Sterling to score these days?

Any chance he gets I just assume he will miss.

To be fair Raz seems to have a mental block.. no idea why but his talent is being undermined by his confidence / decision making so I get the negativity

Agreed he’s pretty shit atm but players lose form and bounce back. To want him out is pathetic

I can only assume that Raheem taking the penalty was supposed to be a confidence boost for him, thinking it was in the bag. Great fucking plan that turned out to be.
