Brighton (h) post-match thread

Thought Mahrez was the worst player.
Then Jesus comes in and plays worse than Mahrez.
Then Sterling comes in and plays even worse.

And this is supposed to be our first choice front 3.

We played in 2nd gear. Seems the players were tired.

Mahrez lost his confidence and is totally off form. Dunno if he will ever recover it. That miss was astonishing!

Sterling should not have been taking the penalty??!!! What kind of decision was that!

Jesus is still recovering from COVID so we need to give him time but sadly this year he has not contributed much

We lost so many balls in the middle of the pitch and made it very difficult for ourselves. Which makes me wonder how are we ever going to replace Fernandinho!! We need a tank in midfield

Credit to Brighton who came to the Etihad to play and not park the bus!!! Their goal keeper bailed them out

Foden got us the 3 points when we should have buried the game earlier on!

In the end its an forgettable game but 3 points in the pocket. Onto Crystal Palace

Casual performance without much effort, could been 4 or 5 nil win or we could have ended up drawing.

Either way I will take 1-0 wins all day long

Winning ugly is a sign of Champions.

3 points.

No idea why Sterling was taking that Penalty. He can not slot a Ball in to an empty Net from 3 yards out if he has to think about it first. And that is a fact. Was shocked to see him given the Ball.
Wasn’t at all confident that he was going to score. I think all City fans know he’s not a natural finisher most of the time he’s shots are scuffed or miss hit so it’s mind boggling that the captain or pep would let him take that. Lucky it wasn’t a result on the line.
Good performance from Brighton, they matched us all over the park in the second half. The weird season continues.
