Brighton (H) | Post Match Thread

I have have this weird feeling that Everton might take something.

I never fancied Rags to take anything last night. They really are woeful, never seen such a bad Rag side in my lifetime.

Derbies though are one off games. We know only too well.

Evertonians get the added bonus of fucking up their neighbors Title challenge. As well as a Derby draw/win.
I'm with you. I've never thought it was the foregone conclusion for Liverpool most have said it is. They have some potentially tough games coming up in the run in, and results don't always go to form.

Name names? how long have you got?

Absolute joke, almost everyone was bottling it. I keep saying it, but if the lack of confidence spills over to the team we could be in trouble. Even now some are saying the players looked nervous in the first half but I didn't think they did at all. We were totally in control and it was just a matter of time before we started the scoring, and it was just a matter of how many we'd get.

Anfield was buzzing last night, tonight our fans looked worried to death, but not the players. Why can't we just enjoy? If we lose we go again next year, hopefully with Haaland and Julian Alvarez.

this is correct, think want you like about the Scouse rats but their crowd could really make the difference
We need to really change our match day experience and become a feared atmosphere
Until we’re 3/4 up take the fuckin roof off and treat each game like it’s a CL final no matter if it’s Liverpool or Norwich in front of us, we need to become part of the reason we are a feared fixture

hang on. i just googled to compare with city players and the ‘official’ weights google gives are so fucking wrong

They have Grealish as 175cm and 70kg. Hes at least 5’ 11 and way chunkier, probably at least 80kg.

Foden and KDB they have as 70kg which is bollocks on both.
You would be surprised how little footballers weigh. I've met a few and they are generally very dinky.

I'lltell you why pal... Quadruple! no one and i mean no one wants it to happen for them can you imagine those fans with that to brag about? HELL ON EARTH!!

Great result, the players looked hungry if a bit over eager until the first goal went in (lost count of the number of times we sold ourselves sprinting into challenges).

Sensational desire and quality from KDB, no better sight than when he goes on one of those runs shrugging off defenders.

Terrific to get the second goal at a good time, let the players relax and control the game whilst finding the time to score a tremendous third - you’ll not see many teams work that hard to pressure the opposition at 2-0 then follow up with supreme quality to finish the game.

Roll on Saturday!

Fuck off to Clanfield then.
I have no wish to go anywhere else, I'm just being honest. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it any less true.

This is also part of the problem here, too much in-house bickering from fans who are supposed to be on the same side.

If Kev isn't the closet thing we've had to Colin Bell then i don't know what is.
If we pick up both big ones this year then that Scottish geezer better get ready for some hell of a statue
We should commission a giant KDB statue if we win the league and they stay up for Evertons new stadium , looking out over Liverpool city Centre like Jesus over Rio. Win win

That was 'a glass half full/empty' performance, but massive three points. I hope some positivity from Pep and fighting talk, I don't want to hear how many medical treatments we had overnight.

If you swapped that game for a home game in October no one would have even blinked about the first half. We looked good, we worked hard, and it always felt like a goal was coming.

Kev is the best player in the league, and he looks up for this, even if some of our fans don't.

Dias is back, already back to his leadership.

On to the next one.
Agreed. Was interesting that the two ex pros - Nedum and Michael Brown - were both v calm at half time. Sounded like they knew what was coming, they understood the rhythm. Whereas mere mortals either flap because we’re too emotional or get sucked in by ‘independent’ commentary who’re desperate to see us lose, i.e any media outlet other than the City site.
Anyway, 1 down, 6 to go. A big win tonight against a team who are v conservative and tight away from home. It was a message to the cult. Win on Saturday and add a bit more pressure on Sunday. Love you blue boys!

Very hard first half really guilty of over elaboration, lacked an edge. But commeth the hour, commeth the ginger maestro. Kev really drove us on, terrific example to everyone. Thought it was another good team performance. As I put on mom thread, Eddie is just different levels with his passing and daring ability.

Watched this on bein, overall very good. BUT keys sad degenerate simian, you are a bitter nonce.

NdJ and even Andy Gray deserve better than having to spend time in the desert with Pete Sampras and Burt Reynolds I'll informed lovechild.

Six more finals plus hopefully three...

I think it was my nerves to be honest ( thought I had patience down to fine art now) randomly dipped in hear to see what the mood was, not good from some so like you say best avoided.
I moderate the site, and I NEVER come on here during a game, I have no incline to be wound up these days.

Thanks, was beginning to think it's just me. I get nervous just like anybody else but sometimes you'd think we're fighting relegation.

the oneway traffic of the second half was built on the graft of the first. Brighton had to cover every inch to keep us out, and the pressure finally told, with a bit of help from lady luck. There were some marvelous bits of skill on show, from Eddie's pinpoint distribution and the one-touch pass-and-go all over the pitch. Very satisfying but mixed with tfft. Still in our hands, c'mon City...

Phil Foden made his 50th Premier League start for Manchester City – aged 21 years and 327 days.

He became the youngest to start 50 games for City since Joe Hart in January 2009 (21y 287d) and the youngest to ever start 50 top-flight games under Pep Guardiola, overtaking Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets in November 2010 (22y 120d).

Should have gone on loan. Can someone send this to Neil Custis?
