Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Haaland had a great first 35 to 40 min today..held it up well, knocked one on with his head
.all very rare...but ive always thought it was never a Pep buy.. just play better with false 9 and cycling / rotating positions up top. Im never convinced he really wanted big erl..doesn't suit his tiki taki stuff
When there’s no threat of a goal coming from anywhere else on the pitch it’s very easy to nullify him from a game.

Not sure why anyone’s surprised. The past 4 losses have been absolutely predictable.

I’m not angry anymore tbh, we’ve been fucking majestic under pep for 8 years, and all good things come to an end. Injuries, Rodri, aging club legends, Pep coming to the of his term here. To me it just seems like the hunger and mentality isn’t there anymore, and players are mentally and physically exhausted.

Honestly, we’ll all feel much better as fans if we just chill out, lower our expectations a bit and just see how the season transpires.
We are stayin up, say we are stayin up

Is that not a lack of foresight from the higher ups though....

Agreed. I wasn’t angry in the slightest watching it. I was more pleasantly surprised with how well we played the first 35 minutes. Was a bit of me thinking what are Brighton doing though? Once they went back to their front foot style we had no answer.

Loads of injuries but more importantly for me a thin squad and too many top players past their best and not replaced has finally caught up with us.
