Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Just a carbon copy of the Lisbon game. 1st half really good, should've been 2 or 3 up and killed the game but we didn't. The lack of ruthlessness in the team is a problem. If Haaland isn't in a good run of form we are struggling for goals. Not replacing Alvarez is looking like a mistake at the moment, but the likes of Foden, Doku, Savinho, Bernardo need to be contributing more.

The 2nd half was abysmal again. The midfield is just lacking any physicality and teams cut through us so easily. The loss of Rodri is obviously huge and has probably masked the midfield issues we had prior to his injury. We don't look like keeping a clean sheet. The international break has come at a good time but we could've done with it coming a week ago to have the reset. We've got work to do now and a tough run of fixtures to follow. We need to beat Spurs and Anfield is a must not lose game now.

This team peaked ( Obviously) in the treble season and we needed to start strengthening then.
I'm beginning to think that season might have been the one where some players thought they had nothing more to achieve. Then when we won the PL last season, again making history I wonder if some thought they could coast and still win things.

Perhaps if Arsenal had pipped us, we'd still have the hunger.

Come on guys and gals, we've had a shit few weeks but lets not turn on each other, we're all blues ffs
Yeah, definitely no need to get personal because someone disagrees with you. Argue the football side and keep the personal insults for your loved ones as they walk in when brighton score their 2nd.

Pity we don’t put every player behind the ball when we are away from home and hit them on the break , score then revert to all behind the ball now that’s a plan.

Not sure what's going on, but it's not letting me directly reply or quote @blubanjo. However, can't fucking believe an implication that I'm a fake fan because I'm critical of Pep after a run of 4 losses, which has followed a lot of underwhelming performances this season. Christ.

When I saw the line-up I thought it would be a long evening yet we did better than I expected because I expected the entire 90 minutes to be what the last hour of the game was like.

I was that sure it would be a tough night, I won £40 by sticking money on Brighton to soften the blow like I used to every week when we were shit.

But we played well for half an hour and played some half decent stuff.

However, Brighton have a deeper squad than we do and proved it with their subs. We can’t use injuries and playing young players as an excuse either because Brighton started with two teenagers in midfield and then brought on another young kid who ended up being the best player on the pitch. They brought on goal threats n’all. We haven’t really got as many goal threats as them even when everyone’s fit. Imagine saying that in about 2018-19.

Ederson and Simpson-Pusey did well for us, Kovačić, Savinho and Haaland did well for half an hour but faded badly.

I thought it was a deserved win for Brighton, they were first to everything and more creative in the last hour of the game.

Poor as we were second half Brighton celebrating like they won the league. Where were these tossers at Anfield last week
Yes they shouldn't have celebrated winning and would rather not take 3 pts from Liverpool for no reason whatsoever

Nurse! Nurse!
