Pep yesrerday...."It's one game. The season has just started. There is a long, long season ahead of us. We will see what happens."

I remember when Pep arrived every City fan was ecstatic. Multiple trophies later and some are calling for his head. Come on guys don't drive him out. Don't forget their is competition out there doing everything they can to win as well as us. His worst season yet is what? Finishing 3rd? Better than anybody else by miles since he arrived. Give him a break and the new lads and keep the faith. Up the blues. Negative Nellie's stop wetting yourselves.
It isn't the not winning. You have stated there other clubs are doing everything they can to win, valid point. Our problem is we are not doing everything we can to win anymore. Buying lesser players, buying potential. Quality players ageing and leaving and being replaced with players nowhere near that level. His head is being called for due to him failing in his job. Given the money spent and his own skills and quality it simply isn't good enough. And again, that isn't because we won't win the league, it isn't good enough because of the piss poor standard of football he and his players are delivering for us. If you are slow and boring and win, not many care. If you are slow, boring and trip yourself up quite often and not winning then it is only a matter of time.

I won't accept this football, I will accept not dominating, that is normal but I won't accept the shit we have to watch most weeks. There was a time I couldn't watch other matches due to the drop off in quality from watching us every week. I now find myself tuning into other teams and games to watch some exciting footy.

Let's see where we are in 3 months. Nothing is lost yet.

Well considering one side in prem history has won the league after losing two of their first three games I would say a title challenge is lost already.

If we overcome these next few fixtures it should put us in a good position for a top 4 finish but failing to win would see top 4 being a big ask then too. Not lost but giving ourselves a mountain to climb.

You’re right, we don’t have a right to see players looking interested. We should expect it though. I certainly expect that as a minimum. I don’t expect to win trophies, or even matches, even though we have a unicorn of a manager and a massively expensive squad full of international professionals.

I agree too that we ran out of gas, (against a team that offered absolutely nothing) so why didn’t we change our style of play or also bring players on in order to keep up with them? That’s the worry for me. One of the players they brought on was 39 years old. Now I’d love to be 39 again, but that is ancient in football terms.

The pre season was a complete farce and the way it’s Looking, we won’t have to worry about the club World Cup for a good while.

This isn’t just 3 games though. We have ambled through the last 2 seasons. We’ve brought in a number of players (we can debate whether or not they’re good enough or prestigious enough all day) and the manager, who has been wonderful during his tenure, still insists on doing the same things and playing the same way. Granted, it’s been wonderful to watch in the past, but that’s where other coaches have left that style. They’ve figured out how to play against it and they’ve done it effectively. We don’t have an answer. As things stand right now and certainly for the last 12 months, nor does Pep. Again, I’m not saying we should win the league every season, but what has Pep done differently in the last 12 months? He's stubborn And maybe he’s earned the right to be, but we cannot keep playing the same drab, lifeless, predictable football until his contract runs out. He isn’t enjoying it, the players aren’t enjoying it and most importantly, the supporters aren’t enjoying it.

He has to change it or he has to hold his hands up and say he doesn’t know how to or that he’s had enough.

That was a bit of a rant, apologies, wasn’t aiming it at you.
Im sorry mate, but its incredible bollocks, but on the other hand i do not want to put you on ignore straightforward, so thats me being nice;)

"Its not just 3 games, we have ambled through last 2 seasons";D - we been a PL champions, fourth time in a row the 2023/2024 season with 91 points, we lost to Real Madrid in UCL on penalties while absolutely dominating them.

Last season does not recall for You any special circumstances? Like Rodri injury whole season? Like Stones, Ake almost permanent injuries? Bobb? Like Walker's escape? Like rather short, but regular injuries that prevent the chance for Grealish, Akanji, Dias, KDB to achieve best and stable form? Like Foden's form non existence runs maybe a little deeper than on pitch form, coaching, preparations?

Problem is not the style of play. Its just about the rebuild thats ongoing. Have you noticed that we changed like over half the squad last 9 months?

"He isn’t enjoying it, the players aren’t enjoying it and most importantly, the supporters aren’t enjoying it";D - players does not enjoy when they loosing. Crazy staff. Yet, from what i have seen, everybody want to fight to be better and win games: Pep, players, surely some supporters I believe. Why are you using the plural form, what do the fans think? Don’t you have your own, individual stance? Fans are different, very different, which you can easily notice, for example, by comparing your text and my text. They’re a bit different, aren’t they?

"He has to change it or he has to hold his hands up and say he doesn’t know how to or that he’s had enough" - Don’t you ever ask yourself whether there might be experts in a given field who know something better than I do? Because right now you’re telling Pep Guardiola that he needs to change his system. Ergo: you know better. Isn’t there some string in your mind that hums with a sense of falseness?

I don't really agree with the other bits you said but i do know exactly what you mean regarding the above

to be fair only one side in prem history has won the league four times on the spin and we've still got that very same manager!
Pep is still transitioning the new players into the system and when it clicks (and it will) we will be fine, not saying we will win the treble or anything but should be back competing.
I also sense a new approach could be about to kick in that should play to the strengths of Donnarumma and Haaland (hopefully)
Finally...yes Liverpool and the Arse have both bought well but they have still got to fit those new players into their system and group, defo not a given and i cant say what i saw on Sunday was the pinnacle of football.

Listen if you’re optimistic then good for you. I’m not saying anything that isn’t true
It's all opinions mate...its not fact just cause someone days so....unless your name is Donald Trump or God ;-). Anyways all good. Up the blues and hopefully in a few months we'll all be on the same side saying "remember a few months ago when we were all arguing and worried we wouldn't be 3 points clear at the top like we are now?"

I said no other team has won the league other than on one occasion after losing 2/3. That’s a fact not an opinion.

I said if we get through the next few fixtures unscathed then that puts us in a strong position for top 4 this season. Thats surely not just an opinion, whilst saying if we don’t win them games we are leaving ourselves a mountain to climb. None of that is out there surely.

Fair enough I'll put my sword down. I do like us equalling or beating the rag records though. No time like the present hey!!

No surprise to anyone that after another disaster window when zero of last seasons issues have been adressed, the issues are still there. It's hard to understand how anyone at the club can possibly be of the opinion that what we have is good enough. Remove Haaland and Rodri from this squad and we have a worse squad than Spurs.
I get that heads were running hot after that shambolic defeat, but my god what a ridiculous comment.

Unfortunately in football and particularly the PL you are as good as your last result. We have been blessed with Pep and the titles. The football. The quality. But these things dont last forever. Pep is brilliant with brilliant players. We haven't got those brilliant player anymore. THAT is the problem. His same possession tactics worked when we did have those brilliant players. It's not rocket science.

Sorry mate but you’re talking bollocks. Pep isn’t in year one or two, he’s in year ten. He’s won everything but he can’t cut it any more. He’s too stubborn to change so needs booting at the most appropriate time. Think Bielsa at Leeds, the fans loved him but knew he had to go.

wtf??

Are we really comparing Bielsa to Pep?

I know Bielsa is well respected but they're words apart in their achievements.
